I'm not too concerned with the Blues making the playoffs. They should easily be in barring a monumental collapse.

What I am concerned about is winning the Central. If the Blues don't want to face Detroit or Chicago in the 1st round, they need to win the Central. If they do, then there is a good chance Detroit and Chicago play in the 1st round, which means one of those two will be out early and we won't have to face them should we advance deeper. Would...be...huge.

We're going to need more goals scored to win the Central. With Steen and McDonald close to returning, hopefully that is enough...but that still doesn't give us "the guy" that we have been missing for years to score goals. I'm not even sure we need "the guy" with the balanced attack we have, but it would be nice to have him late in a tie game or when we are down by one and desperately need a goal.

If the pathetic shootout results end up costing us the division, that's just inexcusable. Hopefully we improve in the shootout down the stretch. Those are important points.
