Defenceman Mike Komisarek has gone to the Montreal Canadiens' biggest rival. The 27-year old defenceman signed a five-year, $22.5 million deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday. The deal will count $4.5 million annually against the salary cap.
After a one year stint with the Calgary Flames that saw him score a career-high 39 goals, forward Mike Cammalleri is moving on. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native has signed a five-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens, worth $30-million.
The Montreal Canadiens appear to be ready for life without Mike Komisarek, signing veteran blueliner Jaroslav Spacek to a three year, $11.5 million contract and defenceman Hal Gill to a two-year, $4.5 million contract.
