I'll believe it when I see him on the ice.

Quote:
Eric Brewer to suit up tonight vs. Phoenix
By Jeremy Rutherford

Blues defenseman Eric Brewer has been cleared to play and will be in the lineup against Phoenix tonight.
The club said earlier this week that Brewer was “very close” to rejoining the team. He was waiting clearance from his Los Angeles doctor.
Brewe hasn’t played since last December when an issue with his sciatic nerve led to two back surgeries.
I have more on this story later.

Selfish for Brewer not to first play in Peoria.

I think is pretty ridiculous he is not going to do a conditioning stint down in Peoria. Even just for a week. I don’t so much blame Brewer, but management for that.

Something smells fishy about this whole Brewer absence.

But the team won last night! How can Murray justify taking somebody out of the lineup when the team is playing well? Doesn't he use that argument over and over to keep guys like Perron or EJ on the bench even after they've recovered from an injury?

Oh wait, Brewer is a veteran and a coach's favorite, so the rules don't apply.

We couldn't get Paulie into the playoffs last year, but Brewer just waltzes into the lineup. I hate to say this, but that dude is gonna get hit and be done forever.

So I wonder who sits on a permanent basis?

Petro will prolly be the scratch tonight. Strachan will be a casualty, but when Jackman and Brewer are both back regularly someone has to go.

1.) Johnson
2.) Polak
3.) Brewer
4.) Jackman
5.) Petro
6.) Weaver
7.) Sydor
8.) Strachan
9.) Colaiacovo

I personally would say our best 6 defensemen would be

Johnson
Polak
Brewer
Jackman
Sydor
Colaiacovo
Petro
Weaver
Strachan

I bet one of Weaver/Strachan will be sent down and Petro will go back to the juniors. He has nothing to prove, and i'd personally rather see Petro out there than Sydor because of the growth that he needs. I just don't think it'll happen.

So are we going to sit Pietrangelo? Who by the way is playing great and hustling his ass off. God I am actually glad I have the swine flu and can't go to the game tonight.

I don't understand at all why he's not going to go condition in Peoria. I think this is probably a final referendum on Murray. If they bring him up and he stinks again, I can't have any faith in his ability to coach a hockey team.

Maybe that is EXACTLY J.D.'s plan for Brewer?

A guy can hope, right?

Are you saying that I should hit Brewer with a basball bat? Is that what you are trying to say?
