Don't get me wrong, I love the guy....but....

Everyone is talking about how Brewer is -12 and Pietrangelo is -9, but your 'shut-down' center is -10. I've just thought he's been really struggling lately and the stats kind of back that up.

Also of note, of players who have appeared in 35 or more games this year, the only guys who are not minus are EJ, Carlo, Polak and Weaver all at 0.

So every forward is a minus and only two of you regular defenseman are……draw your own conclusions about the play of the other two defensemen.

(Sydor is a 0 as well so it’s even more damning for Jackman and Brewer)

Jay McC gets a bit of a pass from me because his "shut-down" line keeps getting blown up and re-invented. Think of all the players that were put on that line by AM as a "slump-buster". It's difficult to totally shut down the other team's best when you're not sure who your linemates are or where their heads are.

That said, the +/- numbers on our D are appalling. Appalling in that they clearly tell a story. Maybe now someone will listen.

If Payne can just keep the lines together for a week at a time I'll look at him as the second coming of Jesus.

Hopefully his play will get better so I can stop calling him McExcrement.

Woot.
A team that is constantly changing lines every other shift, is a team with huge problems.

Stempy's a FA after this season, I believe. Bring him back and reunite? I say yes. Lord knows he won't cost too much.

I would definitely advocate that. He would be a decent scorer, and yea he's only on pace for 40-ish points this season so he shouldn't be too pricy hopefully. And with Kariya likely gone... heck its like replacing the numbers paying less than half the amount. He was also a fan favorite here. I would have no qualms about seeing him back in the bluenote.

The only roadblock I see is taking the spot of Eller/etc or if we went after someone big like any Kovalchuk-esque sweepstakes.

Speaking of McClement...what a god awful pass he made on that two on one late in the game. Horrible. Way too far in front of his winger and the puck went to the boards...no shot on net.
