I personally think that this team is missing a Pie like defenseman.
Jackman, Brewer, Polak, and Weaver are not good enough on O.

I do think that Perron will be a stud fairly soon.
Who knows about Bergy, the dude needs to stay aggressive. Make something happen, quit waiting for it!
You never see Bergie in the center of the O Zone. Always on the boards.
Lastnight he made a play, went to the center and scored. The kid has skills, he's just lazy.

Hey now lets leave the Royals out this...

IMO the only untouchable Defense men we have are EJ, Polak, Weaver and Carlo...sure where Polak and Weaver may not be offensive minded, they do do their jobs, which is defense.

I honestly hope Tkachuk retires and we trade Kariya before the deadline...I spent so much time yelling at the TV last with his lack of effort out there last night.

I realize that this years team is generating very little excitement, but for shitsake, let's look at this honestly:

5 points out of the 8 seed
Hung in there against Chicago and won
Had to play the 2nd best team in the NHL the very next night and didn't totally suck.

It's clear we won't make the playoffs? Clear as mud, I guess... and I have a reputation for being the ultimate pessimist.

Since it's clear we won't make the playoffs....I say just fold the franchise. Close up shop. If fans are going to give up with 30 some games left, why should the players play? And if the players don't play, then why should the coaches coach?

Too quote Jay Z, poof, vamoose to the Blues.

I mean, seriously....

Yep. Fold it. Donate the massage table and the bag of pucks to charity.

Over? Was it Over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor? I don't think so.

But realistically it's going to be tough because you have a lot of teams fighting over the 7th and 8th spot. We need a lot of wins and a lot of help.

Maybe Saskatoon could offer a group of people who don't totally suck as fans.

That's pretty sound scientific method there, glen. Seems par for the course for science these days.

What's the point cutoff by the Olympic break to decide weather or not we're buyers or sellers? 4pts maybe?

Oh Goon, perhaps you didn't notice the concurrent jabs at Blues ancient history and BobEssensaXperience in an effort to either bring humor, poorly, to the thread or to make everyone grateful for the fact that the team, in fact, doesn't play in Saskatoon.

4 pts?

No.

I'd say 6 or more...and it looks like it will be a lot more than that right now. Two tough losses in the past three days and we could be 9 pts. in a day or two.

I didn't forget anything. I remember how we stood pat at the deadline, kept a PoS coach, and really didn't do anything in the offseason because we were so in love with our record for the second half of the season.

Maybe you are the one with the memory problem... we used to have point a game players on our top line, two defensemen that could shut down opponents AND play the point on the powerplay (with two of the hardest, most accurate shots in the league) and how we used to beat the crap out of teams while scoring more goals than we allowed... all of those things are missing from the current lineup. I ain't saying we suck, but we need to take a serious look at the pieces we have, get rid of the duplicates, and add some of the ones that are missing.

I love my Blues. Imma watch every game I can. Imma cheer for them to win, get pissed when they lose, and continue to present realistic evaluations of the on ice product.
