5th place in Conference ahead of the Sharks - if that re-match were to happen.

This season felt like it took forever. Well, onto the playoffs. We'll see, but I'm calling it now--this is the year Washington gets it done.

I've been thinking the same thing. They've had their issues, but they're getting more secondary scoring that previous years, which is critical.

They have 5 20-goal scorers and one of them is Oshie who disappears in the playoffs. At least he did until last season. And 3 of those 20-goal scores play on the same line. Shut down Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie odds are Capitals lose - maybe not in the 1st round with them going up against Toronto, but 2nd round is going to be an issue... again.

Too bad they didn't kick Hitch upstairs before the season, start Yeo right away, and not use that useless defence at all.

It's nice that we finished the season on a good note, not just today, but last 2 months or so. Now, it's onto the real season though, and we don't get to play Arizona and Colorado a bunch of times.

I feel good enough about how we're playing to think we have a legit shot against Minnesota. And, if we are playing well, I think we have some chance of beating Chicago (I feel way less good about that series though). But, I don't know how much of our recent good results to put on the team playing well and how much to put on an easy portion of the schedule.

I've also been thinking the same thing. They are in a good place. I wouldn't take them against the field obviously, but I like their chances. Of course, the 3 of us all thinking this way, probably means it has no chance of happening. I think they will be my non-Blues rooting interest though.

Even with the crappy part of the season, the Blues were 2-2-1 vs Chicago and the 2nd non-OT loss was under Yeo's leadership shortly after he took over. Many pundits claim the 'Hawks are prohibitive favorites were they to match up against the Blues. Head-to-Head record says otherwise. Would be interesting to see how that plays out with the Blues having fully adapted to Yeo's system now, which they hadn't on 2/26.
