It was unfortunate that Upshall threw that blatant elbow. But, I'd rather have The blues playing chippy than just letting The wild skate. The Blues are in this game, and could still leave Minnesota with a 2-game lead. I'm surely liking this game better than Game 1 before the OT goal.
I was actually a little disappointed that was called. I mean, his elbow clearly went up, but I didn't think it was anything vicious and they mostly seemed to have been letting them play. Hell, they let a slash go that happened when Steen got called for the first penalty of that 5 on 3. It's possible I'm being a homer though I guess.
The really bad part of this is Steen had been called for holding the stick. While killing the penalty, Steen has hit stick literally grabbed on two for a good 2-3 seconds while in the Wild offensive zone. If Pollack is going to make such a lame call, you don't let the other team do the same thing within minutes and not call it. That's the problem with the officiating in this one - severe lack of consistency along with completely ignoring more blatant penalties when players could be hurt - Huala's 2-handed chop on Brodziak during a line change shortly after the penalty called when Tarasenko had been speared.
