Not surprised by most of these, but am surprised in a good way about Bennett being released.

Quote:
ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has assigned forwards Jordan Kyrou (Sarnia) and Robert Thomas (London) to their junior teams.

The Blues also assigned six players to the American Hockey League (AHL): forwards Conner Bleackley (Chicago), Mackenzie MacEachern (Chicago) and Adam Musil (San Antonio), along with defensemen Jordan Schmaltz (San Antonio) and Thomas Vannelli (San Antonio) and goaltender Ville Husso (San Antonio).

In addition, the Blues placed forward Beau Bennett and defensemen Chris Butler and Petteri Lindbohm on waivers.

Just saw this too.

No real "surprises" I guess. Seeing Schmaltz go back kinda stinks. Wonder if the kid is going to make it.

I lol'd at Beau Bennet being put on waivers. Why was he even signed? Truly.

Schmaltz in that Capitals game was not good. He was playing against players in the same position - fighting for a roster spot - and he kept losing his one-on-one battles in his own end. Wasn't good positionally when he had to back into the zone. Basically, looking the same as he did at the end of last season - not ready for the NHL. I don't know what Kerbs is bragging about on Schmaltz'a play, because I only saw him play in the one pre-season game - and it wasn't good at all.

I figured it was probably between Walman and Dunn. One of them definitely makes the roster, especially with Bouwmeester out.

I was kind of hoping to see Musil get a shot. He's got the NHL bloodlines and could be a more offensively productive 4th liner than pretty much everyone this team has had as a 4th liner in recent years.
