1) Cubs -- No brainer. No matter who they are playing, I root for the other team. God hates the Cubs...so that's good enough for me. There is no billy goat curse....the Cubs have just sucked ass for 100 years...and I love it.

2) Astros -- For a while it was either the Astros or the Cardinals who won the Central. I love the way their park looks...bu I hate the intricacies of it. That stupid hill in CF, and the stupid Crawford boxes that a tee ball team could reach. Dumb...that ruins the park.
And this has always pissed me off... When the Cards and Astros tied for first in 2001, officially it was a tie and went down in the record book as a shared division championship (the first one in MLB history). The Cardinals got the wild card for playoff seedings because of the head to head record. The Cardinals didn't hang banners claiming the Central Division Championship due to the tie...but the Astros hung banners claiming "Central Division Champions", when technically that wasn't true, it was a shared title. I know the Cardinals didn't like that too much. That has always annoyed me.
There was no "one game playoff" to determine the winner because both teams were in the playoffs...so it was a tie...technically.

Here is what the Cardinals official site says:
Quote:
The Cardinals finished 93-69 and co-owners of the first shared championship in major-league history

Here is what the Astros official site says:
Quote:
The 2001 season went right down to the wire as the Astros clinched their fourth division title in five years with a 9-2 win over the Cardinals on October 7 in St. Louis...after toiling around the .500 mark with a 33-33 record on June 17, went on to finish the year at a 59-36 (.621) clip to edge the Cardinals for the division title

They STILL make no mention of a shared division title. Idiots.

3) Mets -- Ugh. They're still pond scum. That rivalry back in the 80's between the Mets and Cards was awesome. And it was SWEEEET to beat them the way we did in 2006 to go the World Series. :okman:

4) Braves -- I still hate them from the days of Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, etc...and how they constantly got strikes called that were off the plate just because of who they were. They'd bitch and moan if a ball wasn't called a strike, and eventually they were called strikes.

5) Red Sox -- I really didn't have a good #5. I just tossed them in the #5 slot because we lost the WS to them in 2004, and also because their fans would claim the Yankees are the "evil empire" and are "buying championships"...when the Red Sox do the EXACT same thing.

1) Cubs
2) Astros
3) Red Sox
4th through 8th) Yankees, Royals, Brewers, Detroit, Atlanta depending on what year it is.

Red Sox buy championships, Ortiz is fat, Manny's an idiot, Beckett's an ass and the media just loves it loves it loves it.

Living in Columbia, about 1/3 of the Royals fan population (approximately 3 people?) are still trying to wave the '85 world series in Cards fans faces.

Cubs are Cubs.

Detroit is terrible.

Yankees just because.

Brewers need to either boot themselves or another team out of the division, we have enough.

Atlanta for the 90's playoffs.

I know that they're supposed to be our arch-rivals but I really don't hate the Cubs that much. Of course I dislike them, but compared to my hate for, say, the Detroit Red Wings, it's basically non-existant. Maybe if the Cubs didn't have such a long history of mediocrity I'd feel different. They have only 2 division titles in the 12 years that the Central Division has existed. Of course I'm not saying that they're not a rival, I just don't HATE them like I do other teams.

in no particular order of finish:
Scrubs/Chubs/Small Bears (duh)
'Strotards (stadium is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary)
Twins (the hefty bag outfield and artificial wind in the Ghettrodome, fairweather fans, artificial everything)
Everything New York
Winnipeg Goldeyes (a goldeye is a retarded carp found in the lakes and streams of friendly Manitoba)

Pretty simple:

I hate the Braves, especially Chipper (LARRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!)

My fiancee loves the Braves, especially Chipper.

It gets complicated from there.

2) Hate the Cards (sorry guys)
3) Hate the Diamondbacks (for the same reason I hate the Cards)
4) Hate the Red Sox
5) Hate the Giants

Top 5 teams that I'll gladly root for?

1) Mets/Yankees/Astros -- The reason for my allegiance to the Astros? Well, we'll reserve that for the political forum but it involves distaste for a previous owner of the Rangers.
2) Any underdog--this year, my team is the Rays
3) Marlins out of closely following them since their inaugeration

Hate:

(1) The Astros: While everybody else was listening to Cubs fans and hating them, I was down in South Texas staying strong to the Cards. I went to Houston many times to watch the Cardinals play there (and more often than not the Cardinals fans were louder than the Lastros). I had to listen to obnoxious people for 10 years. I absolutely hate the Astros more than the Cubs. In addition to being near Astros fans, the Astros have been much better than the Cubs in recent memory and I am not that old. Thus, the Astros easily win.

(2) The Cubs: Because they are the Cubs.

(3) The Red Sox: The Yanks used to be here but I think the Sox have usurped their mantle as the most evil team in sports. Plus I was there for game for in '04 and I had tickets to game 5.

(4) The Yankees: Hate 'em and their fans who feel entitled to win it all every year.

(5) The Phillies: I hate Philadelphia in every sport.

Both teams are the only 2 teams to hold winning records in the world series against the Yankees.

Shoot, that's true. However, I like the way they run their organization (minus the stadium debacle). There's something special about a team that can sack and loot and rip the roster to shreds then win the World Series, then repeat the process and get back to competitiveness the way they do it. They've mastered the art of rebuilding.

Yeah, if I was a Mets fan, I'd hate Chipper too. Don't hang your head, though, he torches every other team....just not quite as badly as he does NYM.
