No cursed countdown banner this year please? And ban dmiles for cursing the first round with his pre-gdt. Thanks and mazel tov!

It's a pre-series thread. Each game will have a GDT. We've gotta have a place to talk about the series between now and Game 1, no?

Yes.
Just no GDT's before the actual game day.

No countdown banner??
Hogwash.

Yeah the countdown banner idea was bad, very bad. What a way to jinx the whole damn thing.

I've been doing that every year we've been in the playoffs for the past however many years.

You guys and your jinx crap. Hogwash again I say.

Which adds up to exactly how many championships? Maybe it's time to change things up a bit, sir.

If I honestly thought it had anything to do with the actual outcome of the games, then yeah, I'd ditch it.
Besides...
It's not a countdown. It's a count up. It's counting the number of wins as you get them...so it's only tallying them after the fact.
It takes 16 wins to win a cup. Saying you have 3 wins, or whatever, when your team actually has 3 wins, isn't jinxing anything...it's just stating a fact.

If you want to jump into the world of jinxing, predicting the Blues will win a series is more of a jinx than the playoff win counter is. So maybe we don't allow any playoff predictions?
Or...
Maybe I should shut the site down since the Blues haven't won a cup while this site has been online? Makes sense to me. Meh...nah.

Ridiculous. 30 lashes for you.

Thanks.
It's part of a bigger redesign that I am working on for the rest of the site. I want to have it go live before the playoffs start...but we'll see.

Is there a way to embed tweets into posts? If not, I think that would be an awesome feature to have.

Because I like you... I implemented it.
You can insert a tweet using the "tweet" button next to the "youtube" button. Just use the URL of the tweet.
Boom...you're welcome.

Here's a top notch site suggestion: update the minor league affiliate section to reflect the fact that Peoria is no longer the farm club. Or the Alaska Aces, for that matter.

don't know whether this is an issue at your end or mine, but I find it a tad depressing that the headline I've been looking at on the site for 3 months involves Eddie Lack beating the Blues.

I've been signed up here for quite a while now but still have all posts moderated...and they stay in moderation for days sometimes, making me look like a fool when they post to threads well after the content is current. Maybe stop moderating every post after someone's been aboard for a short while and hasn't caused trouble?

I turned this off a while back...and it was only supposed to be a few posts before moderation was no longer necessary. It just helped prevent spambots for the most part...as we used to get a lot of those.

Believe me, I have no desire to moderate & vet every single post before it goes live.

I'm not sure why it is still not letting you post immediately.
I have been meaning to figure out why the board is doing that...I'm looking into it now.

Fine suggestion.

Done.
I also added a couple more.

(Frank)
(Franking)
(Frankers)
(Franktards)

This reference goes way back. For those not familiar, it refers to sports anchor Frank Cusamano and his general lack of hockey knowledge and coverage on KSDK Ch. 5 in St. Louis.

Thanks, Curt!

I didn't know if it was difficult or not, but glad it was something you could make happen without spending half a day or something. (Frank) yah! So much (Franking) better than before.
