Re: Blues trade Warsofsky to BOS for Sobotka

Nice trade. Sobotka can throw his weight arount a bit and will be a decent 3rd liner for us. At least he has a bit of skill as opposed to our usual grinders.

Apparently this guy has a Ovechkin "Russian" mindset in that he really wants to win a cup. Supposed to be built like a tank as well.

Re: GDT: 2010 NHL Draft

Interesting to see who we take... As someone mentioned Forbort people say is a top 12 pick, but I dont think we will take him. Austin Watson?

I agree, I just dont think it will be through this draft no matter who we draft (at least improvement in the immediate future).

Re: GDT: 2010 NHL Draft

I cant believe Cam Fowler and Gormley are still on the board. It would be a kick in the nuts if the next 2 teams swooped them up before our pick. Stars might pick a goalie though. More d-men! Yayyy! Because this team scores enough goals already. I don't care how good Fowler or Gormley project to be...

If they slip that far and we dont take one of them they need shooting! Atlanta with a good pick right there, that kid is a very good player (ridiculously fast).

Re: Byfuglien, Sopel, Aliu dealt to Thrashers

Salary Cap reality is certainly setting in for Chicago. With that being said Byufuglien hasnt hit 20 goals in his 3 seasons, I know he was amazing in the playoffs but I dont think Chicago will free fall as a result of this. Jeremy Morin will probably be outscoring him in a few years. Not to mention ...

Re: Halak to the Blues

What a suprising trade. As Blues fans we always have a few guys we follow through the minors with hopes they will transform our team and for me Eller was one of them. I was really hoping he was going to be an impact player, but we just got what we all have wanted for a long long time. Halak showed e...

Re: NHLers in the Olympics...Just Say No!

The gold medal game was watched by more Canadians then anything else that has ever been on television, ever! The streets of Toronto (and all over Canada) were absolutely crazy after the game and well into the night, never seen anything like it. Letterman was talking about the game it for Christ Sake...

Re: Maple Leaf Blockbuster Trades

Phaneuf is only 24, not sure what you mean by Veteran. Toskala was run out of town, and unloading Blakes contract at the same time was a pretty shrewd move. Cant believe Calgary traded Phaneuf, although they are deep on the blue line and need scoring.

He was a monster in the World Jrs. Good enough to be named best defenseman of the whole torunament.

Maybe (hopefully) thats what the kid needed to get to take his game to the next level.

Re: Team USA Olympics

Why be upset by team USA using the winter classic to announce their team? Hopefully it will drum up excitement/interest from the average American sports who happened to be tuned in. Trust me, Team Canada milked their announcement for all they could. There was a 2 hour buildup live on national tv, an...
