A good indication of how close we are getting is if the 1.44444 shrinks lower and lower as games go on. If the average gets above 2 at any point, we're screwed. So right now, we're... 36 games to play and up 1.43% [/i] (2pointspergame possible/pts needed per game) if the percentage hits lower than ...

the Blues need 20 points in 16 games to be within 6 points at the deadline not bad at all. 8-4-4 would do that.. 9-5-2 would be close. 10-6 as well. but Minnesota might not get as hot as everyone thinks. the other Northwest teams might slow each other down as well Counting on teams to falter on a t...

Since Murray took over, the Blues are 10-4-4. That's 1 1/3 points per game. If Murray would have been head coach from the start of the season (assuming the same points-per-game pace), the Blues would still be 3rd in the division and 6th in the conference with 61 points. IF, they had that pa...

OS wrote:Even though I think they shouldn't throw away the season, the one player they should move without question is Brewer. Defensemen are high in demand and he should bring back a king's ransom and we simply don't need him next year.
Gotta agree there.
If not Brewer, another defenseman.

My case is that losing isn't all bad...especially when the best case scenarion for this season really isn't that good. Well, technically speaking, the "best case scenrio" is the Blues continue their hot streak, make the playoffs, continue to be hot in the playoffs, upset some teams and win the cup....

Why are you sticking up for BBZ when he's so obviously out to lunch here? There's nothing wrong with tracking how the Blues have done since they started playing better... How exactly is he out to lunch? It seems to me that he is the only person backing his argument up with real facts. Seems everyon...

(8-2-3 .731 +3.9%) We're doing just fine. If you have to pick and choose your sampling to make your case, then it's not a very good case to begin with. Read the first post in the thread. I started at what pace they would need from the 30 game marker going forward to reach a given amount of points (...

Let's say they don't plan on making the playoffs -They trade away Guerin, Tkachuk, Brewer, and a couple others at the deadline. They save probably around $3M. They won't trade all of those players. Not gonna happen. If they are sellers, they may move a couple guys...but no way to they trade five gu...

29. St. Louis Blues (29): They went 8-2-1 in their last 11 games, but gained precious little ground in the playoff race. Though Blues fans might not want to give up on the season just yet, an early fire sale should yield huge dividends for 2007-08 and beyond, especially if the Coyotes remain in the...

The Blues keep closing the gap on the last playoff spot. Upcoming schedule has one big problem and then a great opportunity. After the Saturday home game vs. LA, they head west for four games. Could lose all of them. A 2-2 trip would be great. Yeah, this west coast trip is pretty important. A coupl...

I posted this link in another thread...but it is more appropriate here: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Western/Central/Blues.html Based on standings, records and whatnot, it plays out the rest of the season millions of times and then displays the percentage of times a team made the playoffs. I'm...

I've changed my mind on trading players. Doubt the Blues will get into the playoff race although they are playing much better. Of the five vets, I would trade Legace, Brewer and Rucinsky and try to re-sign Guerin and Tkachuk. EJ can replace Brewer. Sejna or Birner can replace Rucinksy. Time to go w...

There's nothing wrong with discussing the possibility of the playoffs. It's a long shot and the Blues will have to play quite well the rest of the season to get in...but teams have gone on better stretches over the same amount of time. So you never know. If the Blues win a few more in a row, the neg...
