Re: Simon Gagne

Doesn't sound like they're trying to move him for a goalie, so that means they're trying to move him for a forward, and we all know who that forward would be. If you believe Eklund and his (e) ratings, hes talking about a three way trade between, Philly, Boston, and LA (e3).. Who the hell knows? Gue...

Re: Forget Kovalchuk

The Isles will offer him more than anyone, but I don't think they will end up being the team to get him. I'm still not understanding why we haven't heard any links to Toronto, but I guess that shows how much I know.

They have to overpay, if he wants to go to a better team there's no way he gets close to that. Just what they need to get that Lighthouse whatever going though.

Re: Simon Gagne

No way they trade him for a defensman, especially Brewer. They're already have $21 million going towards 6 defenseman, I doubt they are looking to add Brewer. Hopefully, they are in on Kovalchuk and are looking to dump salary quick and will give him to us cheap, for a pick or two and/or a prospect.

JD needs to go rogue. And army could be a little more "mavericky". :plusplus: :plusplus: I even said that when LEEEEEERY was GM. JD has his hands way too far into the organ-I-zation. Yes, he is President, but it almost seems like he is trying to run the GM and coaching jobs a little much. In Neil A...

Re: GDT: NHL Free Agents vs NHL GM's

Were Blues fans honestly thinking this team was going to be a player for Kovalchuk? I hate Strickland. Never did I think we were going to get him, but why act so sure of yourself? This guy just acts like he has all the answers, and forgets that the people who thought we may get Kovalchuk are the pe...

Re: Anyone else not really that geeked up anymore?

So, I guess you are saying the Dave Taylor signing isn't making your Geek Flag Fly. I think everyone should be a little more excited about this. I can't say I know a ton about the guy, but from what I have read today he seems to be a pretty good addition to the front office. Yeah, it isn't a player...

The only way we draft him is if they widen the net. Say, a quarter of an inch?

Re: GDT: NHL Free Agents vs NHL GM's

I am really surprised at the lack of rumors linking the Leafs with Kovalchuk. They seem to make the most sense, big market team, plenty of cap space and I am sure they will be the team willing to overpay the most. The only thing I see holding it back is Kovy not wanting to go there cause they suck r...

I am still mildly geeked and probably will be until all the better forwards have signed somewhere. Not that I expect the Blues to do anything.

Re: GDT: NHL Free Agents vs NHL GM's

Frolov, Stempy and Kovy still available. I'll be very, very happy with Frolov. I'll be ok with Stempy. I'm not even thinking about Kovy, since it isn't going to happen. I think Frolov would be had a little cheaper if he signs before Kovalchuk. If Kovalchuk signs first, then the teams who missed out...

RT @kausatoday: Chris Mason is Atlanta's new No. 1 goalie, signing a two-year deal with yearly salaries of $1.6 and $2.1 million

Good for Mason, took a pretty big hit in the pocket book, considering he turned down our $3.5 mill per deal.
