They already signed John Scott from the Wild to fill that role.

Re: GDT: NHL Free Agents vs NHL GM's

If they don't match the offer, SJ's 1st round pick next year shouldn't be anything great. And a 3rd round pick is nothing. I think the Hawks get screwed in that deal. They're saying the Hawks may have to decide on keeping Niemi or Hjalmarsson to get in under the cap. So Hjalmarsson could be as good...

LeBron-A-Thon is over. Miami.
I think that decision proves he can never be the "man" on a team.

I started posting here again when I saw this proposed on another site. I don't know if unification is possible but this should be the place people come to talk about hockey. Back in the day this place was hoppin! It would be great if it got there again.

There were a lot of defensemen out there this year. Good signing for the Blues.

I would do this but I do not know if the Flyers would agree. One for Gagne, in a heartbeat.

Re: GDT: NHL Free Agents vs NHL GM's

Hockeybuzz's tracker on their main page says the blues and cola verbally agreed on a 2 year deal, which should be finalized next week sometime. Spector's reports $4.25M over two years. Read that as 4.25 PER year at first and almost blew a stack. 4.25 OVER two is a GREAT deal for the team IMO. Agree...

Re: Forget Kovalchuk

TSN reporting Kovalchuk just turned town the Kings' offer, whatever it was. Isles or Devils or Russia. This guy is starting to annoy me. He doesn't take a near league maximum to stay in Atlanta, doesn't sign an extension with the Devils, hits free agency and apparently wants the largest contract in...

After getting over my initial rage... This is not a bad trade for the Blues, if either Woywitka or Lynch pan out. Brewer is not Pronger, but a good D-man. Still, there should have been a forward coming back to the Blues. I am still frosted that Edmonton managed to sign Pronger for 5 years at $5.5M p...
