Yeah I've had this beer and you're right it is very good and very well made, but just not at all my style.SixDemonBag wrote:Just got back from a beer tasting @ Lucas on Clarkson & Manchester.
Highlight was Left Hand Milk Stout. VERY different. VERY good. Not a drink-all-day kind of beer. But good.

Re: Do YOU suck @ photoshop?
There's a whole Season #1 and Season #2 of this stuff at mydamnchannel.com. Me and the misses went through all the videos laughing the whole way. I think it's Dane Cook, and an internet search reveals the same conspiracy.

Re: The Beer thread
I have a question, brew masters. it's a very simple question and probably quite idiotic. What is the main reason for the variety within certain styles? For instance, The Paulaner Salvator is very red and syrupy and kind of sweet whereas the Celebrator is more bitter coffee flavored and spicy....

Re: The Beer thread
I finally got a chance to bottle my pale ale last night. The final gravity reading was great, and the taste was very smooth. It seemed a little light on hops, but my taste buds were a little skewed because I was drinking some Dale's Pale Ale while bottling and most beers would taste under-hopped co...

Wow - what a series... hopefully we don't get swept by KC again... it'll probably be the opposite and all home-team fans will have no fun.

Re: What would you do?
So the conflict was all about proslavery and antislavery settlements along the Kansas/Missouri border. And although a great amount of the action took place across state lines, there were several intrastate conflicts also because it was not about KS v. MO at all and in fact about proslavery v. antis...

Re: What would you do?
Jayhawk comes from the combination of the Blue Jay the Sparrow Hawk, thus: Jayhawk and the blue & red coloring. People on both sides of the struggle between free states and slave states used the term but it later on became more associated with those against slavery. The conflict began when proslaver...

Interesting glassware tip: Getting Some Glassware Many are available on-line, at stores like Crate & Barrel or, for those of you in the beer industry, from restaurant glassware wholesalers. Also checkout your local beer store who might carry a selection of glassware, and even the occasional glasswar...

Re: The Beer thread
Marco... Really? It seems like every time I try a new beer and the bartender/brewmaster tells me it's "hoppy", I almost taste a hint of citrus. Kinda like what Goon was describing with the pale ales. That's the only way I can describe it. I don't know if you've ever had Bells Oberon, but that's wha...

Re: The Beer thread
I know that for a dopplebock the main flavor is the malt. I like that flavor. There are just some beers like Fat Tire that I hate. Maybe it's just the Belgian style beer I don't care for. I think the Fat Tire is an American recipe actually, it's listed under an American Amber / Red Ale. If you like...
