Re: NYR trades Scott Gomez to Montreal for Chris Higgins

Oh, dear...

Well, if Montreal is so willing to take on outrageous contracts, JD should give him a call and offer him Jackman or Brewer.

Re: Free Agency / Trade Thread

The Blues have $50.5 million committed to next year's payroll. $56.8 million is the salary cap for next season. That's a difference of 6.3M. I'm not saying they will spend up to the cap ceiling, but they do have room. That 50.5 doesn't include potential triggered bonuses for the rookie contracts (O...

Re: Free Agency / Trade Thread

I'd also like to mention that the Blues are in a position to make a trade if they feel the need. I assume they will at some point... And that nonsense about, 'Well, if they were going to make a trade, it would have been before the draft'... Yeah. It's just that. Nonsense. They have been stockpiling ...

Re: Free Agency / Trade Thread

I believe he made 1.5M last season. It looks as if he will not be resigned. I'd say 2M. I would have rather seen the Blues use the money on a 29 year old faceoff specialist and a damn good PK'er than to an aging/declining vet whose best days are long gone, and has been on the team forever. Also, Ma...

JD has been terrible in the area of defenseman contracts.

Re: Free Agency / Trade Thread

It's not enough. Fair enough. Jay was pretty respectable last year, and surprisingly, so was Tkachuk. I can see the value in dropping Walt and bringing in Malhotra for a little less. I guess I feel comfortable with the choice to keep Walt because of his offensive upside and what I've heard about hi...

Re: Free Agency / Trade Thread

A 6'2, 230 lbs, 37 year old who will not come close to scoring 25 goals next season. He'll be on the 3rd/4th line, playing a limited role. The money could have been spent elsewhere and put toward an important free agent signing such as Ohlund. Also, what could have been an open roster spot for a pl...

Re: Free Agency / Trade Thread

How is paying a 25 goal scorer that is 6'2 230 a bad signing when its for 2 mil? especially when he's as popular around here as any player on the team. Sure Brewer at 4 mil is overpaid and you could argue Jackman as well but in no way are those contracts handicapping us. We have money to spend if n...

Re: Free Agency / Trade Thread

I hope you don't honestly believe we're "in" on any of these guys. I mean, I'll give you Harding and maybe Conklin or Ohlund. But serioulsy? Giggy? Kessel? HOSSA?! You're loft expectations will be harshly dashed. The only true and immediate need this team has is for a backup goaltender. Conklin fit...

Free Agency / Trade Thread

Let's keep it all here. Management made a very big mistake by overpaying Brewer and Jackman, and also by giving them both long term deals. And bringing KT back for for another season was a crap decision too. Not good... Especially when you look at the board and see who is available via UFA/RFA/Trade...

Another idea is to wear a Andy Murray mask. When Brewer is expecting his daily, loving hug from Murray, you bear hug him and thus freeing up cap space.

Can I get one of those Andy Murray (frank)head masks at Johnny Brocks dungeon?

Re: bitching....again

I left somebody a work-related message with a simple question. Called back two more times over the next week and it just went to voicemail each time. Gave up and sent him an e-mail with the question. He wrote back in 10 minutes. You couldn't pick up the phone though, MFer?! i have seen it each way....

bitch won't talk to me for a year and a half. e-mails me and says let's get together. tells me she loves me. 3 days later we're fighting again and she runs off to Europe. 10 months later sends me a text, wants to get together again. SHE sets up a date and tells me to pick her up. In my car, FIVE MI...

Not sure how I feel about this. True, he never really lived up to his contract or early hype, but he was easily more consistent then Brewer or Jackman.

I hope this is a sign that they are about to make some sort of move.
They have to.

(Frank) Zubov. He's old and done.

Ohlund would be nice. I'd actually like to see if Hossa's price tag could be talked down a little... If so, I'd like to see him here. The Blues are in need of a 1st line/2nd line sniper.

We also need a goaltender... (Cory Schneider or Josh Harding, anyone?)

Re: BYE BYE, MCKEE

I'm sure he means Brewer...and Jackman. hmmm....Am I like the only one who doesn't hate Jackman? I know he can be an asshat and the last play of the season is Exhibit A. But he puts up solid minutes and provides good leadership. Sure his salary is inflated, but most players' salaries are these days...
