Re: ELLIOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember fellas - the question with Elliot in Ottawa was never whether or not he was capable of playing well. It was whether or not he was capable of playing well for an entire season and if he was capable of stepping up when the pressure was on. It wasn't his 'regular' play that cost him his start...

Going out on a limb: Halak steals us this game.

Blues 1
Caps 0

Steen continues the march with support from The Shatts.

Re: ELLIOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be satisfied if Army tried to shop Halak to a team that needs a goalie and needs to reach the cap floor during the draft. Just saying. Elliott and Bishop or Elliott and Allen would be fine with me. I think 12 games of Elliot is a little soon to be coming to the conclusion we should possibly...

Re: ELLIOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elliott is a NO ISSUE. Why do we keep discussing this? The guy is GOOD and he's kept us alive at times when we should have lost the game, which is quite ofthen. The D has been out to lunch more than helped him and he's doing the kind of saves he's made in Ottawa (Seriously, look it up. He pulled off...

Re: GDT #23: 11/27/11 > Blues @ Blue Jacket > 5:00PM > FSMW/KMOX

The Jackets are that odd sort of team, the kind that flat out sucks and yet can kill the momentum of much better and bigger teams at the drop of the hat, which doesn't help them insomuch as it hurts the losing team in the long run. Don't change the tandem cycle. The team has to get confident with Ha...

Re: Lucic hit

I sat back down and watched the video a few more times today. I will admit that I watched the video once and got steamed at it because what I thought I saw was that Miller had his shoulder/back to Lucic when he cleared the puck and that Lucic was at a distance. I'm pretty sure I let my emotions get ...

Re: Lucic hit

Miller came charging out and beat Lucic to the puck. What's Lucic supposed to do, teleport past Miller? That's the price you pay if you come wandering out of the crease to challenge a forward. None of us seemed too upset when Janssen creamed Carey Price in Montreal. This. If Miller is coming out to...

Re: Lucic hit

I'm with Ohio on this one. (Frank) Miller. That wasn't much of a hit. If you can't take that, get your pink panty wearing ass out of the league. To take a hit, I agree. To get hit, I agree. To get a concussion, I don't. Lucic knew where he was going and was going there fast and alone. He could have...

Re: Riverman doing well..

If we trade anyone, it's Halak. meh, I disagree. Given Elliot's history of being unbelievable only to fall apart after a hot streak, I'd be very hesitant to make him our starter. I also think teams are more likely to overpay for Elliot which would be the point of trading him. Don't get me wrong, I'...

Re: Elliot for All Star game?

It's a popularity contest to get ratings, like it's always been. Otherwise, Halak wouldn't even be considered for it. Elliott deserves the shot. Seems like this is quickly becoming the Year of the Backup for the NHL.

Re: Blues Fire Davis Payne...Hire Ken Hitchcock

Commenting on the front page article about not firing the assistants. Don't be surprised if Hitchcock and Armstrong are already looking for new assistants. The changes have to start somewhere and wholesale changes mid-season does not put the new head coach in the best position. Let him gather as mu...

Re: Trade Imminent?

So we traded the jinx for a bottom line D? Considering the streak of good fortune the acquisitions made by the Front Office have been lately (Langs, Arnott, Elliott and now Russ), I'm excited. Whoever they got locked in the closet so they can make these upgrade deals better lose the darn key :D

Re: Interesting tidbit on Halak.

One thing about Elliot, he once had a 9-0 stretch with the Senators. And then fell apart. I think if Halak's 'issues' with being streaky are under control, and if Elliott stays hot when Halak isn't and vice versa we may have the tandem we need to make the playoffs and go deep. They both are fighter...

Re: Interesting tidbit on Halak.

It's funny that he has his first 'good' game (a shutout, not to mention a clear and solid win) at the game where they honoured Demitra and Korolev. Halak has Demitra immortalized on the back of his mask, so it makes me wonder if his real issue was emotional. If so, can he move past it or will it lin...

Re: Blues Fire Davis Payne...Hire Ken Hitchcock

I think we're about to see some changes, on the quick. The problem with coaching might have been that Payne didn't lean on his staff hard enough, but when you got people like Hirsch as your Netminding Coach? Nuff said. I'm hoping Hitch revamps the PP and special teams before deciding to ditch Halak ...
