99 pts. just to make the playoffs?

Something seriously needs to be done to get rid of these three point games.

Stupid.

And you know...it's simply amazing how well the Blues have played since Murray took over as compared to how they played under Kitchen.
They went from one of the worst teams in the league, to one of the best...and they have done it over a long period of time...something like 35 games or so. And they are continuing to play good hockey without Walt and Guerin.

That is the improbable story if you ask me.

I have to say that I am pretty pumped about next year....seriously.

I'm very excited for next year. I'm not expecting the moon, but this team WILL be in serious competition for a playoff spot. It's going to happen.

I really excited about what this team is going to be like in 3 to 5 years.

You know, I'm not really aboard the lose to get a better draft pick bandwagon. I might feel different if there was a Sidney Crosby or two as surefire NHLers in the upcoming draft, but there isn't.

I'd like to see the team keep up the momentum, even if that means finishing in 9th, and getting the worst pick of all the non-playoff teams. This surge will only help the young players in the future, and secure trust in Andy Murray.

Besides that, this team is just plain fun to watch. To those who were worried about how to put butts in the seats after losing KT and BG, the answer is to play good hockey.

I'm not anymore either. I want them to keep winning. The difference between the 5th pick and the 10th pick is not that large. It's all a crapshoot at that point anyway.

It's so nice to watch these guys right now.

I think with the defense well in place, plus Sanford out to still prove himself, and the the kids with no-quit in them, if they can limit their competition to 2.00/2.20 GAA down the stretch they'll win a lot of remaining games. My prediction is that they'll close the gap between them and 8th place to about 5-6 points if they can limit their GAA to 2.00 in the great majority of their remaining games.

Andy's game-to-game focus on preparation pays off so well. And the fact that they're officially over 0.500 is incredible when considering their start.

FWIW, on Sportscenter this morning Barry Melrose said the Blues were "on fire" and its so great to hear that, even if we are out of the playoff contention- its just great hockey :D

To hear ESPN talking about hockey in general is great to hear, much less talking about the Blues. Glad to see the Blues are still turning heads and surprising people, even though we're out of the race.

I agree with you...After 3 plus years of dead hockey it's finally fun to watch the games again...Not to worried about a high draft choice...

Are you saying that every 5th round pick is guaranteed to become a bonafide NHL goal scoring machine? I believe it.
