Has anyone ever been the the HOF for an induction? I would like to go up there in November for MacInnis, just wondering what it is like.

I went to Cooperstown for Lou Brock's. It was a great Baseball day for a 14 year kid. I would imagine that Toronto will be the same only smaller.

Congrats to Al. If anyone deserves a first ballot induction it is him. GREAT player and if there is a classy guy out there I've never met him.

It's been confirmed.
stlouisblues.com:
Retired Blues defenseman Al MacInnis was selected for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Thursday. MacInnis will officially be inducted in November and will become the first Blue to be inducted since Bernie Federko in 2002.
Awesome.

The parade from the Blues to the HOF is in full swing. Federko and MacInnis are in, Hull is next.

I'm thrilled for MacInnis. What a great player.

I have a question though. Does the NHL have the player pick a team to be listed with? I can't remember from when I was at the HHOF in 93.

No, they don't pick a team. Grant Fuhr has his Blues jersey in the display case.

My guess would be you wouldn't be able to get in the room unless you were an NHL honcho or a guest of an inductee. I've not been to the HHOF, but the room doesn't look terribly big when I've seen the induction ceremonies on TV.

Terry Frei at ESPN didn't have Big Al making it in this year, he was rooting for Larionov and Glenn Anderson instead of MacInnis and Stevens.
