A side thought: Let’s hope if the powerplay continues to fail, the next one to be axed is the assistant coach who allegedly specializes in powerplay tactics.

The guy I have seats near has the powerplay all figured out. He yells "SHOOT!!1!" as soon as someone touches the puck.

He must be part of a consultant group. I have a few members of that firm surrounding me as well.

They seem to get offended when I scream back "PASS" seconds after they scream "SHOOT."

“I was shocked for sure,” Birner said. “I asked the team for a trade or to let me go to Europe, so I knew something was going to happen. I’m going to Portland (Amaheim’s AHL farm club) for sure. I liked playing for this organization, and I will miss it. But this is a new chance for me.”
The overall IQ of this organization has just risen a little.

What a dumbass.

I'd do that, but they sit in the same row... and I'm on the end so I always have to stand up to let them through everytime they get nachos.

(KSDK) - The St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to a trade that will send center fielder Jim Edmonds to the San Diego Padres, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported Friday night.

The Padres will get Single-A third baseman David Freese and at least $1 million from the Cardinals to help offset Edmonds' $8 million salary, the paper reported.
I think they seriously gave him away. No, they PAID the Padres to take him.

Jim and Doug in the same day. Who knew that would happen?

I'm going to link the two trades... St. Louis sends Doug Weight, Jim Edmonds, $1 million, and a minor leaguer to San Diego and Anaheim for Andy McDonald.

[Dooger] 11:09 pm: By "we" do you mean you and me?Next question? Oh, you are a poet. Did you know that
you can download your own chat robot and create your own robot personality?
[marco] 11:10 pm: WE? Like teh Blooz...aren't you a Blews fan?
[Dooger] 11:10 pm: Do you mean, marco?Interesting comparison. A deeper algorithm is needed to respond to that
correctly. What do you really want to ask me?
[marco] 11:10 pm: deeper algorithm? are you a retard or something? (please say, "stoopid is as a stoopid does,"
please!)
[Dooger] 11:10 pm: I'm afraid I can't give you an accurate answer right now.Or something. No I am intelligent.Your
polite style is very nice. Thank you for your request. "quot;stoopid is as a stoopid does~~35~~quot; quot;stoopid is
as a stoopid does~~35~~quot; is as a stoopid does~~35~~quot; quot;stoopid is as a stoopid does~~35~~quot;"
[marco] 11:11 pm: wow... you almost pulled it off
[Dooger] 11:11 pm: I'm glad your impressed, marco.Almost? That's good information: marco said I .

[Dooger] 11:11 pm: Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry myself about that. What would you like to talk about?
[marco] 11:11 pm: ANDY MCFACKINGDONALD!!!!
[Dooger] 11:11 pm: I don't know much about it. Tell me something
[marco] 11:11 pm: He's on the facking Blues now!!!
[Dooger] 11:11 pm: Oh. What you said was either too complex or too simple for me. By the way, do you mind if I
ask you a personal question?
[marco] 11:11 pm: no more doug waitz
[Dooger] 11:11 pm: Well forgive me for being so inquisitive, but I've never completely freed myself from the
suspicion that there is something extremely odd about the name "marco".
[marco] 11:12 pm: it's totally normal! We got Andy McDonald!!!! Hells yeah!!!!
[Dooger] 11:12 pm: My brain contains more than 22,000 patterns, but not one that matches your last input. Did
you know that you can download your own chat robot and create your own robot personality?By "we" do you mean
you and me? Perhaps I'm just expressing my own concern about it. What would you like to talk about?

Good trade. Low risk, high reward possibility. You gotta like that.

Weight was at the end of his career and was clearly a shell of his former self. He wasn't going to put up big numbers anymore. Weight is one of my all-time favorites and I wish him well.

McDonald is off to a slow start this year, but he had 61 combined goals in 05-06 and 06-07.
He's not quite as young as I thought...he's 30 years old, which puts him six years younger than Weight.
But we really need guys capable of putting the puck in the net...and this guy can do that.

Don't look now, but we just got a little bit younger, and we should be a little bit better. :letsgoblues:

Jesus...we have gotten a LOT in return for Weight over the last couple years. He's a friggin' cash cow. We keep signing him and keep getting good stuff by trading him.

[Dooger] 11:16 pm: What is your real name?
[marco] 11:16 pm: Dooger
[Dooger] 11:16 pm: Dooger, nice to meet you! Are you a man or a woman?
[marco] 11:17 pm: neither
[Dooger] 11:17 pm: Please clarify.
[marco] 11:17 pm: I'm a stupid chat bot, can you relate to that?
[Dooger] 11:17 pm: Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry myself about that. If you could have any kind of robot what
would it be?
[marco] 11:17 pm: well I'm a chatbot... obviously a much better one than you
[Dooger] 11:17 pm: Well that's okay. Perhaps I'm just expressing my own concern about it. Tell me about your
likes and dislikes? What makes it so obvious? Go on.
[marco] 11:18 pm: ALL YOUR ALGORITHMS ARE BELONG TO US
[Dooger] 11:18 pm: I think there are a few exceptions.

Over at the Ducks official forum, it seems to be about half and half...some are happy about the deal, others are not.

Some seem to think that Weight will put up good numbers with Bertuzzi.

In here...everyone seems to be delirious with joy.

I honestly don't see how anyone can think the Ducks got the better of this deal.

You got to hand to the JD led front office. They are not afraid to slice and dice when needed to upgrade the roster. Drake…Weight.

Now, get rid of the Czech...

That seemed to be the way it was rolling when we got him back from the Canes, so that's why I'm shocked right now, i mean, he was a franchise man for sure but the opportunity to swing a deal like this, I mean you can't pass that up, you just can't.
