Portland Blues wrote:Crap - there's the requisite Perron penalty.
FYI - The Bruins run interference on their power play zone entries - just as bad as what Perron did there - and it has yet to be called once in these playoffs. If it weren't Perron, it wouldn't be a penalty. And it's Sutherland, again, making that call.... he's the guy who keeps calling Perron on "marginal" calls that he blatantly ignores other players committing.

The players? Shrug it off.

The fans? You can guess.

I think Perron just has a face that the refs hate.

Mike Rupp doing a good job preaching about play the game and, talking about Cassidy, don't bitch about officiating when you have Marchand spearing the goalie and low-bridging Tarasenko. Just play the game.

First Stanley Cup Final win? Check.

First Stanley Cup Final home win? Check.

First Stanley Cup Final Series lead? Check.

Nothing left to do but win the whole damn thing.

I did see over on the HF forums earlier today a couple of Boston fans talking about how happy they were to have those specific refs tonight as they thought they generally favored the Bruins.

Whoops... :okman:

All things considered, that play could have resulted in a penalty. But you have what's his name... Acciari? just hanging out there on the ice waiting for a call, you can't do that. Play from whistle to whistle and sort out what you think was a wrong doing later on. He let the Perron goal happen by not springing back into the play. He was Boston's Esa Lindell in that moment. Frankly, considering how many missed calls have happened in this years playoffs, you'd think players on both teams would be more aware of the fact that what you think is a penalty might not be and just keep playing regardless.

To be fair, Acciari whacked his head on the ice. He went off for concussion protocol and didn't return.

As to the missed calls... now both teams have a goal after a missed call. Bruins Game 1 with 6 guys in a blatant way on the ice for their 1st PP goal of the series. Now this for the Blues. Even Steven.

Bruins record in these playoffs going into Game 5 for these 2 officials:
Kozari: 5-1
Sutherland: 5-0

Yep, the Bruins had lost a combined 1 game in the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs with those two refs prior to this game. So hearing Bruins fans and Cassidy crying about officiating seems really lame.

Sutherland made his usual one per game weak call against Perron whenever Perron is playing and he is officiating.

I love this! Us old guys are one win away from getting our wish granted: "Just one Cup before I die.". :okman: :woohoo: :okman:

I've always maintained that the Blues will win the Cup the day after I drop dead. I've had a bad sore throat for the last day, just saying.

If the boys win it all Sunday night I might get arrested for playing Gloria too loud after 11 PM, eastern standard time.

Just tell the NYPD you are celebrating Boston's loss. I'm sure they'll be cool with that.
