GDT: Senators at Blues 11/19/2010 7 CST (FSMW/KMOX)
Come on people, it's 10:30 on Game Day. Is everyone asleep?
Let's hope no one dies of a heart attack in the mezzanine level this time around with Ottawa in town.
Or that the refs don't scrooge us out of multiple good goals again.

I would like to point out that since the day I admitted the reason I kept picking the Blues to lose was because every time I picked them to lose, they ended up winning, they've lost every single game since then. I forget who the douchenozzle was who accused me of eternal pessimism, which is why I explained my reasoning in the first place. I should not be blamed for this horrible run of bad luck though.

I think it's because you dropped your sponsorship.glen a richter wrote:I would like to point out that since the day I admitted the reason I kept picking the Blues to lose was because every time I picked them to lose, they ended up winning, they've lost every single game since then. That must be it, Thedoc.
I think I have a new sponsorship though.
Mark Cundari has 11 points in 15 games down in Peoria and should be getting a chance to play at the NHL level instead of that stiff Nikitin (-6 in 7 games, 0-0-0). At the very least, he appears to play a good offensive game. I don't know how his D is, and I know he's smallish at 5'10" 200, but would it hurt to give him a look with Polak and Jackman still out long term?

I'll watch 6 minutes in. Then have to turn it off because the Blues will be losing 2-0

Looking forward to putting this on the TV at the office and making use of our keg. Hopefully I can keep it on long enough to at least get a couple in.

big win against a pushover team. Can they do that against the top teams without Polak or DP? That would certainly be nice....
Edit: Nikitin -1. I think it's time to try a different d-man in his place.

The defense took shape tonight. With the exception of the last Sens goal, I thought they looked strong.

Re: GDT: Senators at Blues 11/19/2010 7 CST (FSMW/KMOX)
The two goals allowed against this mediocre team still show exactly why better teams are exposing us. The offense looked great tonight, but the defense still looks very weak.
I agree that it's time to give someone other than N64 a shot. Strachan has also looked very weak.
Not clear that anyone else is ready down below though, we've kind of depleted the farm with all the injuries on D :\
Good to see Carlo coming back strong and Boyes finally going on a decent streak. Hopefully he can keep this up.

Re: GDT: Senators at Blues 11/19/2010 7 CST (FSMW/KMOX)
Pretty sure the Blues should give me season tickets. They are 6-0-0 with me in attendance this year. They were like 1-14 with me there last year though lol.
I thought they looked really good for the first 8-10 minutes or so, but then were sloppy last 10 mins of 1st period and first 8 or 9 minutes of 2nd period. Winchester and MacDonald were the best players on the ice tonight IMO. But, Backes, Sobotka and Steen (especially on the power play) all had good games too.
It was kind of an anomaly as I didn't think several players with multiple points had good games. Petro was the most obvious. He seems to have regressed. Boyes was pretty flat the first half of the game, but had a good game from the point he scored his goal. Colaiacovo was pretty good though I guess.
Definitely was a good rebound game though. If Backes, Macdonald and Boyes can continue to step up, we might come out of this injury spell in pretty good shape.
