Dammit. The feed switched to MON/PIT, then post-game of the Canada-Russia final.

Bunch of savages in this town.

Well, I'd be happier about the 1 point if we didn't have two shootout leads. Hey Conks...isn't your job to make stops? Given up 6 goals on 7 shootout shots this year. That, my friends, is a very crappy ratio.

Conklin is one of the reasons they updated the goalie change rule for shootout. When he was in Edmonton, they would bring in the other goalie if the game went to a shootout, because they knew he was so bad at stopping breakaways.

IMO, Halak should be in net anytime the Blues go to OT just to prevent Conklin from ever having to deal with a shootout.

Yes, if there was one guy that I figured would score...

The Blues M.O. is to either blow 3rd period leads or come from WAY behind to come up JUST short.

Good game to go watch. I was pretty amazed at all the Blues fans in attendance though, cant remember seeing that many Blues shirts at a Leaf game.

Really thought Janssen and Orr were going to fight but after Janssen lost his stick and was pretty much in no mans land for the Leafs 3rd or 4th goal he seemed to get benched.

Wow...entertaining game...huge range of emotions.
Happy after the 1st period...Uber pissed after the 2nd period....pretty damn pumped 3/4 of the way through the 3rd period.
On the edge of my seat at the end of regulation and in OT when we did everything but score the winning goal... thought we had it won for sure in the shootout...then the big let down at the end.

We had 400 chances to win that game and came so damn close a bunch of times...but I'll take the point.

Steen was a monster last night. He's usually a pretty decent threat, but holy crap was he on a mission last night. And his goal in the shootout was sick.

The "no goal" review that went against the Blues was a good goal, you just couldn't see the puck in the net...it was in, no doubt. Tough break.

The Apostrophe's game tying goal in the 3rd was a thing of beauty.

Gustovson looked like a deer in headlights in the 3rd period.

I know you can't do it to a guy, but Payne really should have put in Halak before OT started in case it wen to a shootout. Conklin is one of the worst goalies I have ever seen in a shootout.

When the Blues were down 4-2 in the 2nd, I set the DVR to record the rest of the game and turned the tv off. I put my daughter to bed and ran to Lowe's to order a bunch of stuff for delivery for the basement remodel (I had to go before they closed).
Got home, grabbed a snack, fired up the DVR and watched Toronto go up 5-2 early in the 3rd...and then the comeback happened.
I think the key to these big comebacks in Toronto is me turning the tv off and going shopping when the Blues are trailing...but this time I had a DVR to watch the comeback. :okman:

I missed the entire game and when I turned on the radio this morning for the score reports I was expecting to hear Blues thrash the Leafs. I almost drove off the motherfranking road when I heard they lost! If they can't beat the Leafs, that says a lot. At least they scored some goals, but obviously the defense didn't show the hell up.

Two of the Leafs goals were off of really bad turnovers by Pietrangelo and Sobotka. Halak only had a real shot at stopping one of the 4 goals he surrendered and it would have been a miracle save.

We should have won that game. Ty Conklin SUCKS with a capital SUCKS in the shootout. He's just like Lalime. They both had their 5 minutes of fame, then turned into mediocre-to-subpar goaltenders, but absolutely horrible in the shootout. Payne should have had Halik go in for the shootout.

Well Steen played outstanding, Halak looked terrible....blues had like 60 hits last night...and conks did good until he realized he was in a shootout.

I don't believe that's allowed. I'm not quite sure the rule, but I believe the goalie that is in OT has to stay in for the shootout. So, like someone mentioned in the thread, Payne could have pulled Conklin prior to OT and had Halak go back in, just in case it went to the shootout.
