It says "24 hour sports station" as though they are making a serious run at challenging ESPN yet their ads immediately after the Classic about airing NHL games are all about "NBC" and the like. Also, I'm a diehard Notre Dame football fan and I have yet to hear anything about their contract to air the football games being transferred to NBC Sports. If they're not going to put sports games on their 24 hour station then what's the point? And what about the Olympics? IIRC, NBC locked up the contract for the next games a while back. Where are those going to be aired? Hard to believe they'd put it on a station you can only get if you have a cable package: the Olympics have always traditionally been on free TV.

Long story short: I still don't know what they're trying to get at.

NBC Sports Network will have some of the Olympics. If you remember in Vancouver, MSNBC, CNBC and some other sister channels of NBC carried the live events through the day, then NBC did a lot of prime time/tape delay stuff. I know Bob Costas' show 'Costas Tonight' will be on NBC Sports Network, they are going to have some MLS games and they're going to eliminate the stupid reality shows of TO/Ochocinco and Jenn Sterger. They are also going to have some NFL dedicated shows as well.

Well they screwed the pooch on the first day. First, they change the time on the Winter Classic. Who does that? You mean they just guessed on a time when they scheduled it in the first place? Then they make a big deal out of the show on the old VS about the Canada vs USSR from '72. I really want to see that. Since the WC is moved back, they moved it back to 5:00. Of course my cable guide isn't updated, but there is a 90 minute time slot from 5:00 to 6:30 for sports talk. Cool. I set the DVR to record that. Well, I guess the WC went over, and I guess they insisted on showing it on the old VS as well, so my recording has the last 5-10 minutes of that and doesn't have the last 5-10 minutes of the show I wanted. Great kickoff!

NBC had nothing to do with the game time change.
That was an NHL decision...they pushed it back due to the weather.

I recorded the Canada vs. USSR thing too...haven't watched it yet. Wondering if it got it all or not...?
