I woke up from a deep sleep this morning, just after six. I thought it was Saturday and I was excited. Then I realized it was Friday and I still had to go to work. Bummed. Dejected.

Then I remembered the Blues beat the Ducks last night and are now first in the league. And I was happy. Who cares about work? The Blues are FIRST IN THE NHL.

The big thing here is this team is feeling more and more unbeatable by the day.

That will prove invaluable when facing adversity in the future. It will enable them to keep their heads up should they fall behind by a couple early in a game and/or prevent them from going on any kind of loosing streaks.

That confidence isn't just in themselves either, it's in each other. You don;t see guys trying to do 'too much' as much any more. Hitch talked about sitting Oshie down a week or so ago and talking to him about that very thing and look what a difference it's made. I think DP has really played a simpler game lately and he looks better for it as well. That's easier to do when you have confidence in your teammates.

One of my buddies at work calls my room during class, there's two adjacent rooms one is A and one is B and we have similar extensions so there's a constant flurry of calls to the wrong room. Anyway, he calls me when he meant to call the other room, so I tell him he's got the wrong room and he says oh sorry, by the way Blues suck. Jealous Rags fans.... first place feels fantastic!

Fricking my thought today too. This team is incredible to watch. AND they aren't boring...other fans are just pissed because their team can't dominate the play.

In a rare "bizarro world" moment of absurdity, I found myself rooting for Chicago tonight to beat the Rangers. They obliged. Now we can return to our regularly scheduled Hawks hating and, oh yeah even though the Rags hold a game in hand, even if they win it (which they will because it's against the Islanders), they only share a tie of 1st place. They have tailed off... a lot, as of late.
