The most important thing the Blues can do tonight is find their game and go into the playoffs on a positive note. We need effort tonight, a win against an eliminated team, and a Vancouver loss.

We desperately need a win. And, not just a win, but a dominant performance start to finish. Sometimes teams get super hot when they come out of a skid. Maybe tonight is the start of a hot streak.

I know it probably won't mean much standings-wise if we win or lose, but because of our current losing streak there's a mental aspect to this game that almost makes it a must-win. We lose tonight, we don't have any momentum whatsoever going into the playoffs, and most likely low morale to boot.

Remember that team goals against record we were supposed to shatter this year? Well, unless they get a shutout tonight, they won't beat it. 1 goal allowed will tie it and 2 against will mean we won't get it.

It seemed almost unimaginable that they would fail to get it 2 weeks ago, and yet, here we are. It's been a bad stretch.

Only because the NHL is counting the goal that is awarded to a shootout winner as a "goal against" stat. So if the Blues lost 10 shutouts, that is 10 goals added to their goals against record.

When the Devils set the record, shootouts did not exist.

So...players cannot count toward shootout goals towards their individual stats, a goalie can get a shutout even if losing a shootout, BUT a shootout loss impacts a team's goals against record.

For this stupid goals against record, are we factoring in the # of games the Blues played this year and the # of regular season games the previous holder played? Did that team play 82 games in their record-setting year?
