It was the 2002 (I think) Devils. It was a full 82 game schedule. They let in exactly 164 in 82 games.
We just let in 165 in 82 games. 10 shootout losses means we technically did beat the record, but I don't think we're going in the book, asterisk or not.

Oh, I agree with that. They also blew (or blue) 1st in the West and the 1st overall in the last two weeks when it was there for the taking.kodos wrote:Even with that, they were still set to absolutely destroy the record and ended up blowing it.

I have not heard one peep from anyone in the media about falling short of the record. Not a peep.

Even at the most heated, the Blues have a pretty easy going media environment. At times, that lack of scrutiny probably works against the ultimate goal of a Cup. Not enough scrutiny/heat to push the organization. Luckily, I think the current “hockey people” are internally motivated, but a little more accountability would be nice.kodos wrote:I have not heard one peep from anyone in the media about falling short of the record. Just look at the sale as an example. If the reports are true about the stuff Checketts was trying to pull (1 million salary per year, etc.), why wasn’t that a topic of conversation?
