I got the Jets in this one. Just my gut pick, actually I have them facing the Blues in the Western Finals.

I've been hearing more and more people on NHL network radio/ in the news picking the Jets.

Am I missing something here? Yea I know the Ducks laid an egg (ba-duh *crash*) in the playoffs last season but this is NOT the L.A. Kings.

Also with virtually no playoff experience I might add.

edit: They have some former Blackhawks cup winners who know what it takes... beyond them though.

As a Winnipegger (and also a Blues fan), I'd love to see The Jets upset The Ducks. It should be a long series. It should be tougher to call than most people think. The Jets are a hard-hitting, tough defensive-minded team, with a great overall team defence, and great 2-way game. They've got weight and strength that will grate on opponents, but also have some attacking speed. They also play a smart game, and take advantage of opponents' errors. They are also an excellent possession team. I think they match up well vs. The Ducks (whose goaltending is inexperienced, and questionable).

Vey tough to call. My logic tells me The Ducks survive a 7 game scare, and eke out a narrow victory. But my heart says Jets win 4-3.

Not sure how a penalty that was called during time that was reset (because the Ducks scored) still applies. Weird...

Ducks win again. It'll be interesting to see how the Jets do with the home crowd.

I haven't been able to watch a lot of this series because they've played on the same days the the Blues have. Hoping I catch a bit of tonight's game to see that Winnipeg crowd. They're going to bring it.

Little just scored to give The Jets a 4-3 lead almost at the end of The 2nd.

Why can't the Blues ever play in the playoffs with the kind of effort these two teams are playing with?

I think the Ducks are starting up the steamroller.

Effort only does so much. It's execution.

The Blues looked frustrated and confused for long stretches in games 1 and 3.

That tells me they're either not being coached right or simply don't have to talent or capability of putting into action the coaching plan.

Anaheim and Winnipeg remind me of two boxers just trading blows. Neither could stop the other, it just came down to who scored last and it's basically been that way the whole series.

Blues v. Wild have been more of one team getting the edge, running with it, and then the other team doing it.

Looks like it's gonna be over fairly quickly for the Jets.

Ducks and Flames (if they beat Vancouver) should be a great series to watch.

Despite the sweep, I really think this Jets team is going to be really good, and sooner rather than later. Future is very bright for those guys.

They've stockpiled the young talent to the sky and IIRC they have two picks in the first round this year.

Agreed. Helps that they have a sharp front office. I'm still amazed at the return they got on an injured Kane, who is very comparable to David Perron for whom the Blues got a failed prospect and a 2nd-rounder.
