At first I wanted Vegas to win this series but now I'm all in hoping the Canadiens do it. They've buttoned down Vegas so well. They deserved to win that game last night, they deserved a better fate. But that's how it goes sometimes.

I don't get what was wrong with the Islanders last night. It's like they weren't even trying in the first period and Tampa wasn't even trying to do their cross ice passes through defenseman. The Isles were giving up easy entries on straight North-South plays, not challenging on the boards, except for a small part of the 2nd period, and looked like they just said "F it. We suck tonight. Let's goon it up." Fortunately, the refs didn't really let them.

I thought the refs did everything in their power to not let Vegas lose. The sequence with 3 callable blatant penalties by Vegas uncalled and followed by the weakest hooking call on the Habs was insane. Kinda been the case all series long.

I thought the refs did everything in their power to not let Vegas lose. The sequence with 3 callable blatant penalties by Vegas uncalled and followed by the weakest hooking call on the Habs was insane. Kinda been the case all series long.

100% this. That sequence was absolutely awful officiating. When contrasted with how the refs handled the Islanders-Bolts game - by calling the penalties - regardless of the score - it's gotta be super frustrating to watch as a Montreal fan.

Montreal was there to play tonight. I'm quite torn now though after learning Alex Burrows is on their coaching staff. I still hate him from his Vancouver days.

Oh - and this will be another year where a former Blues player is guaranteed to be playing in the Stanley Cup Final - since either Edmundson/Allen or Pietrangelo/Reeves will be in it. Heck, if Tampa advances, a former Blues player will win one again....

I'm wondering how many of those Islanders fans were throwing their "last drink at the Nassau Coliseum" on the ice. I could see someone doing that even though it looks trashy.

Glad I was wrong about Vegas winning. That fan base needs to be knocked down a peg or twenty.

As far as tonight, LGI! This Islanders team reminds me a lot of the 2019 Blues. I'd love to see them knock out Tampa tonight.
