Sorry, but I hate how this guy is always so sarcastic to Blues fans.

That is probably my biggest complaint with him, he can be pretty smug sometimes. I don't know why it was outrageous for us to think we might go after him, considering we have the cap space and JD said we tried trading for him last season, so probably not much of a stretch. Of course losing a major investor in the team really threw a wrench into plans of spending closer to the cap. I don't mind Strickland when he's not being a douche and I am usually one to stick up for him, but he is kind of douchey sometimes.

There is a reason why Strickland is thought of as a joke to most legit hockey personalities.Winning Unlimited wrote:He will look very bad if Kovalchuk does sign in St. Louis.section319 wrote:ProngerBlues44 wrote:I hate Strickland. Winchester is teh back!!
So, we have McClement, Sobotka, D'Agostini, Crombeen, King(RFA), Janssen(RFA), Hensick, and Winchester fighting who can play on line 3 with Boyes, but then who makes lines 4 and 5?

At least he took a pay cut from 800k to 700k. Still I wouldn't have touched him. Unless we needed depth for our ECHL franchise.dmiles2186 wrote:Blues re-sign Brad Winchester. BLECH.

Well...at least the Blues got their shootout master back.

I've heard the same. Maybe he can cut it for the fourth line in Peoria... or second line in Alaska.Leedog wrote:I heard it is a 2 way deal, but can't confirm. Anyone know?
I really really hope that this hack doesn't make the St. Louis lineup. I mean, why do we need him? I thought Sobotka and D'Agostini were gonna fill the role of Crombeen and Winchester... which, by the way, is a HUGE upgrade IMO.

It sure is going to be fun watching a team of 4th-liners play all year. I'd rather watch JD charge his Rascal.

Re: GDT: NHL Free Agents vs NHL GM's
The league just got too fast for him. It will still be a great memory of mine to have seen one of my favorite players growing up put on the Bluenote. He had a few moments (hat trick vs. ?Canucks? early when he was with the Blues, his performance in Sweden against the Dead Things and a few youtube-worthy highlights) but yea- overall extremely disappointing acquisition.Hallplante wrote:Remember how we celebrated when Blues signed Kariya? IMO he's still a future HOF and I wish him the best and it was a pleasure having him on the team; however disappointing the stat column was. Best of luck PK!
