The National Hockey League and the city of Glendale, Ariz., are expected to enter into another one-year interim agreement to work together on securing ownership for the Phoenix Coyotes to keep the team in Glendale. The Glendale City Council will vote on the action at its next meeting on Tuesday that will keep the team playing at Jobing.com Arena for the 2011-12 season. Both the NHL and city of Glendale intend to continue working on a sale to the potential ownership group led by Chicago businessman Matt Hulsizer.
"As we have for the past two-plus years, we have been working very closely with the City of Glendale to do everything possible to ensure the Coyotes' future in Glendale," NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told NHL.com. "At the City's request, we have agreed to pursue another one-year interim arrangement while we jointly pursue a long-term ownership solution. We remain confident that one exists, and we intend to continue to pursue it."

Sweet. Since Phoenix is within a relatively close driving distance to me, I can join those 2,000 fans the next time the Blues make the trip out this way to play the 'Yotes.
I think everyone saw this coming.
It was too late for them to move to another city next year anyway. Not sure when the NHL deadline for that kind of thing was, but I had heard it had passed.
They'll play next year in Phoenix, and then 3/4 of the way through the season, it will be announced that they will be moving...somewhere.
Seriously, this story is the NHL's equivalent to Brett Favre. Everyone knows how it's going to turn out, but the media has to report all the minute, annoying details anyway. I'll be happy when this thing goes away.

I hope they announce that they will be relocating next year. Getting tired of these rumors.
