Listened on the way home from work, it's mind boggling... the Devils radio announcers were going bonkers praising Berglund. The Devs team generally praises the heck out of any opponent, they're anything but homers (a real nice local radio alternative to the Yankees team of Suzyn Waldman and John Sterling aka the absolute biggest homers in sports), but the praise for Berglund made me want to vomit. 2 goals is great, not taking that away from him. But they were going on and on about how great it was to see him back and he has that big body and soft hands that he knows how to use. Excuse me what? He knows how to use them? Please. You want him? I'll take any number of guys from the Devils in exchange for Berglund.

Bergland has looked very good since returning. Skating hard and fighting for pucks, net front presence. I like the improved Bergy.

Give him a few more games to get comfortable doing nothing.

This looked like the late October/most of November Blues.

Find themselves trailing after the 1st, then play the rest to the game the way they are capable of and mostly dominating the play in the 2nd two periods.

Call on Parayko was a joke. There are NHL Officiating videos showing the difference between a cross-check and what is legal. The legal video is almost identical to what Parayko did. Seemed like the Russian ref was applying the old NHL maxim trying to "even things up" due to the Blues having earned 3 straight power plays at that point in the 3rd.

The Blues system cannot afford turnovers at their own blueline. Forwards aren't being asked to be as defensively responsible as in prior seasons while the D is asked to move the puck up, which they generally do exceptionally well (first in the league at getting pucks into the offensive zone from the D). The issue is when an opposing team gets more guys between the Blues D and the Blues forwards and the puck get turned over. Instant odd-man break. It's a consequence of the system, but it's worth it, IMO, as long as the team consistently works at that offensive mindset. They seemed to do this for most of the 2nd and 3rd period.

I hate to say it but you're probably right. Berglund has always had his streaks. If he keeps this up a few more games, I'd shop him while his value is high. I'd take a 3rd rounder...maybe someone gets real stupid and gives up a 2nd...

No mention of Reaves clocking Tootoo? Man, that was probably the best thing Reaves has ever done for this team.

Tootoo trying to be a man, when we all know he isn't, takes one punch and turtles like he always does when fighting someone bigger, but not really fighting.

Farnham just lost his mind going after Jaskin like that. That was odd.

Deserved. Wish Reaves had gotten hold of him.
