That was a nice drive by Yakupov! Too bad he hit the post! He surely will help this team.

The Blues had a lot of scoring chances, but failed to score on them. Yakupov had a lot of room on his poster drive. He really should have scored on that. I hope they finish better vs. The Flames.

That was almost all Steen. He got his ass-kicked in the faceoff circle only winning 11%. The other two Blues who took the majority of faceoffs were both over 50% and Perron was perfect at 100% on the couple he took, thanks to Steen sucking at it tonight. McDavid was the one kicking Steen's ass for the most part.

I wish there was a way to get Steen back at wing, but that's tough with Lehtera out. Schwartz would be a nice experiment there, but you'd think they'd have tried that already. Lehtera's injury seems to be causing more issues than I would have ever thought, but it's only been a couple games.

Heck, why not give Perron a try at C. They did it late in the game and his faceoff win was damn clean.

Watching this on On the Fly, they had the Edmonton call of the Lucic goal putting Edmonton up 2-1. The analyst doing that game said the Blues defenseman "should have stayed in their lanes," instead of Bouwmeester coming across. I'm throwing a gigantic BS flag on that one. If Bouwmeester and Pietrangelo stay in their lanes, the play winds up with McDavid uncovered between the circles and Lucic right in front of the goalie screening him. Who in their right mind ever leaves McDavid uncovered in slot with a perfect goalie screen in front of him??? The flaw was communication between Pietrangelo and Bouwmeester. One of them had to cover Lucic and neither did. With Lucic having already backed off Pietrangelo and Bouwmeester following McDavid across actually forcing him wide, it's likely Pietrangelo is the one who should have stayed with Lucic. Had he done so, who knows what happens after, but McDavid would not have had a good shooting angle or good passing lane if Pietrangelo stayed on Lucic.
