I was about to post the same. These 9:30 (9:42, whatever) start times drive me nuts. I guess it could be worse, could be a west coast game, but really it's times like this I'd rather live in Cali than New York.

I feel the same - check this out - love that our announcer went off on this issue last night - it's the first time I've heard that the coaches and players hate it too. Scroll down a bit past the ad and click play - it's about a 30 second clip.

Crawford was the difference in this game...he really weathered a lot of storms and shut us down when we were pressing. If the Hawks come back in this series, 2 things are going to eat at me: the goal w/ 0.4 left in the 2nd period (the Blues have done this sort of thing multiple times this year and it's maddening) and dominating almost the first 10 minutes of OT and coming away with nothing to show for it.

Crawford was the difference in this game...he really weathered a lot of storms and shut us down when we were pressing. Bouwmeester was absolutely awful tonight. Not sure I've ever seen a worse game by a Blues defenseman. I actually think Charlie Borgious (sp?) might of been better.

Plus, Bourgeois would fight.

Bouwpusster let that let that Europuss face wash him at the end of the last game several times... didn't do anything about it at all. That sends a message that, "Hey, I'm a big pansy."



I think we can win another one in Chicago, no problem.

Frustrating loss. Good news is we yet again fought our way back. In years past, that might have turned into a loss that was clearly over midway through the third. Nice to see that they can't hold a lead on us.

Yeah, Milbury and now Bettman have come out against Foley. There are people all over the Midwest this morning that stayed until almost 1 AM on a weeknight. There's no defending that whichever way you slice it. If this game started at 7 and then went like 6 OT's and ended at 1? Fine. But starting a game at almost 9pm local time is about as dumb as you could imagine.

I'm with Pat Foley, 100%. Struggling this morning after seeing the Blues flush it down the drain in 2nd OT. Thankfully, St. Louis is a 20-minutes-from-anywhere place. I can't imagine what it's like to make it home to the burbs after a game in Chicago.

Half of our D struggled mightily last night. Shatty actually wasn't as bad as the previous games but Bouw, as has been noted, looked awful. Lost puck battles, board battles, any battles. Bortuzzo simply looked out of place. I guess if Edmundson is injured, we're stuck with Bort but he was only ok defensively and looked very awkward in the offensive zone.

Overall though - lots of pucks that bounced off sticks, or went under, or didn't quite make it from simple short passes. So many chances went begging because the receiver wasn't able to control the puck. Chicago didn't have that problem so it wasn't ice - it was the Blues. Nerves or whatever you want to call it. It won't get any easier in Chicago. I think the positive is that it won't be any harder either - Chicago doesn't seem to be dominating the Blues. Blues just can't stop playing with seconds left on the clock and have to (Franking) keep their composure in their own zone.

Why TF do East Coast games all start at 7 local time?
West Coast games start at the latest at 730 local time.
Meanwhile, the Central gets F'd with 830 local time starts????

Why TF can't the East Coast start earlier to accommodate the National Broadcast and not push Central times an hour to an hour and a half past their normal start times?

Thank the wonderful East Coast media bias in which everything revolves around the East while the middle of the country is just something the jackwads fly over.

Yeah I just read it - Bettman's response below in blue for anyone who hasn't seen it. He's full of it - clubs are NOT fine with it. His message almost sounds threatening and apparently Foley said something that was against the party line. And then of course our d-bag President O'Donough has to call Bettman and apologize. It's well known on the hawks side that he's 100% PC all the time and always worried about image. God forbid our announcer say what everyone is already thinking. Just think if this game went to 3OT.

I actually bet teams (or owners) are fine with it. Staggered starts means more TV revenue. More TV revenue means more profit for owners.

It's the fans (and perhaps players) that don't like it, I would imagine.
