Hey, we scored. How about that?
If we could score 3 in 6 minutes like Vancouver has done the past 2 games we'd be sitting pretty.

Thomas gets Blues' MVP for this series. He's been the only one other than O'Reilly, who has been skating all through every game, and he's had the most good shots. When your team's best passer is doing most of the shooting, you know your team is in trouble.

If they could pass and skate the puck out of their own end, through The Neutral Zone, and into The O-Zone, they wouldn't need to do that!

Maybe they should have continued without the goalie. Leaving Allen in might lower his value so much they WON'T be able to trade him, after all! :( :( :( :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

three consecutive calder finalists (as the announcers constantly mention) and 1.5 to 2 bad goals from Binnington in each of his starts
add in Markstrom's heroics in the second period of game 5 and its pretty
tough to win

Well, that was a rough way to defend our first Cup. Last year all 4 lines were a threat and this year not so much. I don't think Vegas should have any problems with Vancouver.

Agreed but last year when our 4th line was tearing it up the other teams were probably sick of hearing about them.

That will do it. See you next season. I will say I don't hate this Vancouver team like I did in the Sedin era.

I think the Blues need to re-sign Petro. I'm not sold on the defense if you remove him from the mix (and honestly, they haven't been awesome with him in the mix). Parayko has shown some strong play over the years, but not consistently enough to run the show. Bouwmeester will never play again. Dunn is still young and prone to inconsistency. Faulk has shown mixed results. Scandella has been reliable, but unremarkable (not that he was really expected to be). Bortuzzo and Gunnarson are who they are.

How to do it has been widely discussed. If it comes at the expense of guys like Allen, Bozak and Steen, I guess you have to do it.

++ on the Vancouver hate. For me it was the Naslund/Cooke/Bertuzzi years that I couldn't stand them. Even hated Crawford the coach.

Have a great offseason & stay well!

Wow and garbage. Can’t trade Allen now. Gotta legit competition next year
I don't agree with this. Allen's more solid play in his first 2 playoff games helped The Blues get back into the series. So, he let in a couple bad goals in what will be 3.5 playoff games, after playing well all regular season. He's a solid 1B goalie, and okay, as long as he's not counted on to be The #1 or play more than 40 games. He's in The NHL's Top 7 backups, and also one of the few backups that could allow a team to stay in a tough playoff race if they were to lose their #1. There are always a few teams looking for a top back-up in a that key position. The Blues WILL be able to trade him, and won't have to add value for the deal to be made. Rather, they'll be able to get back something of some value to them (a draft choice or secondary prospect (of Sanford's ilk) for him. I just hope that Steen will retire. Bozak will go, as well.
I didn't mean they couldn't trade him, (If anything, the series should have upped his value) rather they shouldn't want to. Binner was good in the regular season but is still somewhat unproven. You get to keep Allen another year to see what you have with Jordan and your goaltending duo is a reasonable price.

EDIT: I'm actually pretty all in on Binnington. I think he was off, as goalies sometimes are, and is usually pretty fundamentally sound and hungry. Not sure what happened this Summer. I'm just guessing they won't want to bank on him at this time but I guess you never know.

2015-16 Sponsor of Dmitri Jaškin
