It's the fans (and perhaps players) that don't like it, I would imagine.
BS. They get the TV revenue regardless of which NBC network the show airs on and NBC has plenty of networks available.

Why is the Wildcard team, Nashville, getting 7 pm local start times while the Blues and Hawks get bumped an hour and a half? Simple. NBC wants the Hawks and Blues on NBCSN, period. And to accommodate that, the Blues and Hawks get screwed on start times.

Did the jackasses ask the fans who pay to go to the games? NO. Because they don't give two shits about the fans.

The earlier game on NBCSN rarely finishes by the time our games start and they end up shuffling us off to another channel. Or, like last night, joining the game 4+ minutes in. I'm sure if they had their way the second game would start at 9:00 central.

Maybe I'm wrong about it. I don't know every in and out of it. My thought on owners liking it is that the more NBC can profit on games, the more they (and ESPN who can drive up the price in a bidding war) are willing to bid for the contract to air games. The higher the bids for the rights to air games, the more revenue the owners get.

I'm not defending it. I was there last night and decided to go into work an hour later than normal to compensate today (luckily I didn't have anything important this morning). It's very shitty for fans. I just suspect the league benefits from NBC maxing their profits.

This is my point. If the Central time zone teams have to start late, why not make the East Coast teams start early and eliminate overlap except in the case of OT. Supposedly, the late start is to eliminate that, but we all know it doesn't.
