How's he doing, besides statistically? since we can't all watch him play, regardless of the numbers he's putting up how's he looking?

Rivs started playing 4 games on the road tonight. Ben saw his 1st shoot-out vs Houston tonight losing 3-2. (saved 3 out of 4). Out of 4 games he has played so far... only the 2 games this past weekend have been at home.

Here is what I'm noticing.. (his first game notwithstanding). The last 3 games he seems to be solid thru the first 2 periods but lets a couple in the 3rd period. Just coincidence...or something to work on maybe? Is the defence getting tired and slacking off?

What's the scoop on Bens 2nd loss? Statistically, he seems sound. Was it a close game, like a 2-1 effort or something? His save percentage looks good, just the W/L that isn't impressive... yet.

Rivermen rookie goaltender Ben Bishop was unavailable Saturday because he has a leg injury, the severity of which the team does not yet know. He faces some medical tests.

BISHOP IN CHECK? Rivermen rookie goaltender Ben Bishop has had health questions late in the season in the past.

He suffered a groin strain at University of Maine in 2006-07 that plagued him down the stretch. Last summer, he had surgery on his knee to repair torn a meniscus.

He's day-to-day now for the Rivermen with an undisclosed leg injury, which is a shame, because Peoria fans were excited about him and, just as importantly, so were Rivermen players.

Bishop has given the team a 2.38 goals-against and .908 saves percentage in five outings, good numbers stepping right out of college.

If Bishop's injury keeps him from playing, it puts Marek Schwarz in the Peoria net this week, and he's been inconsistent.

St. Louis could also send down goalie Hannu Toivonen - he's on Peoria's Clear Day Roster list - when the NHL season ends Saturday.

While his body might be needed, his .864 saves percentage at Peoria won't be.
