As part of the Peoria Rivermen “Pink in the Rink†Night, Chief Operations Officer Josh Morin and Head Coach Davis Payne announced today that one player from the Rivermen team will dye his hair pink to support the event. This special night will take place on Friday, Oct. 17 and proceeds will benefit the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. Players participating include: Marek Schwarz, Nicholas Drazenovic, Tomas Kana, T.J. Fans can nominate their favorite player by donating money to that player’s jar at the Customer Service Table presented by U.S. Cellular in Section 4 at the home opener on Saturday, October 11. In addition, jars will be available in the Rivermen Office within the Civic Center up until Friday, October 17.
The player who raises the most money by October 17 will have his hair dyed pink by Dawn Eckvall at Attitudes in East Peoria and skate without a helmet during warm-ups for the October 17 game against the Milwaukee Admirals.
Fans are encouraged to donate as much as they are able. All proceeds will go to the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. The nonprofit foundation relies on public support to generate funds toward helping find a cure for cancers affecting women and support to women’s shelters
