MVP: Oshie
Forward: Oshie
Defenseman: whatever
Unsung Hero: Oshie
Biggest Surprise: Oshie
Most Popular: Oshie
So what are your real choices. I haven't given all mine yet, but here they are

MVP: Mason
Forward: Backes
Defenseman: Polak
Unsung Hero: Weaver
Biggest Surprise: Crombeen
Most Popular: Oshie

Biggest win: Toronto way early in the season. It set the tone for the team.

the kicker with Crombeen - what did he do after that hat trick? 12 goals on the season - 3 of which came in one game. I'd say he did what was expected of a grinder with one surprising game.

I'd have to go with Colaiacovo as the surprise player. Started more games than he ever had in his career. Never missed a game to injury (which is why the Leafs traded him), rejuvenized the offense from the defensive zone damn near the day after he arrives (showed d-men how how to play looking up ice and not just at the puck when they were playing it), and wound up with career stats for a single season - after being named a no-good, injury plagued, d-man by the Leafs. That was a HUGE surprise. Even more than Crombeen - who filled out the expected role, and Backes whom the Blues expected to improve or wouldn't have matched the Canucks offer.
So you knew who Crombeen was before opening night? I attended development camp last year and bits of training camp and had no freakin clue who BJ Crombeen was.. To watch him become a regular in the lineup was a pretty huge WTF?!

There is a real good reason for that...

I might do a list later, but I think Winchester was the unsung hero and the biggest surprise off the top of my head.

If not “unsung hero,” definitely the biggest surprise. I can see the votes for Carlo though.

MVP: Mason
Forward: Boyes (was stuck between him and Backes, but was pleased with how Boyes played without PK and without MacD for a large part of the year)
Defenseman: Cola
Unsung Hero: JayMac (before he was rewarded with $1.5m/year I thought he was pretty unsung)
Biggest Surprise: Backes (I expected Winchester-like production. I'm happy to be wrong)
Most Popular: Oshie

Just to clarify - we stole Crombeen off of waivers from the Dallas Stars during the season. And he filled the role for the Blues Dallas expected of him. So big surprise - not really. Had he scored 20 goals and 20 assists - hell yeah - big surprise. A hat trick in one game doesn't equate to big surprise for a season.

MVP: Mason (easy)
Forward: Boyes (Just a beast, would've done much better with a healthy Mcdonald and Kariya all season)
Defenseman: Weaver (The most solid all season, Polak was my close second)
Unsung Hero: Weaver
Biggest Surprise: Backes (No one expected 30+ goals out of Backes ever, let alone this year)
Most Popular: Oshie (easy)

Best Moment: Play off clich, as awesome as the Boston game was and until we clinched that was the best moment and a moment I will remember for a very long time. But, the clinch was the best feeling I have had in a long time, to watch every game for the past few years of just disappointment and hoping JD & Co. were doing what it took. And to see this team have such a hard season and finally pull it together was just amazing and that was the happiest I have been in a long time.

MVP: Mason
Forward: Backes (Through the regular and post season he showed me the most, even though he is a grinder)
Defenseman: Polak
Unsung Hero: Polak (His defense was amazing all year and he stepped up in a big way, with EJ and cream puff missing)
Biggest Surprise: Colaiacovo (His ability to come here with doubt surrounding him and prove he is a solid dman and took over the point on the powerplay)
Most Popular: Oshie

Best Moment: The game against the yotes, when Perron flipped the puck into the zone and it bounced past Ilya to tie the game.

I say hands down the biggest moment was beating the Red Wings when Backes scored 4 goals. That game was utter insanity. Such a great game and a HUGE win for the Blues in the standings, and off of the Red Wings no less. I felt it as a kind of "holy shit, we're really going to get in the playoffs" moment and that win is when it happened.

I really wonder how many times Andy Murray and John Davidson voted for Barret Jackman. Not to mention the constant e-mails they probably sent out to the members of the front office to vote for him three times a day.

Sounds about right, but Andy McDonald got screwed. He's not even a runner up for anything, boo.

I still get chills thinking about the atmosphere when we clinched.

Simply awesome moment.

There's a couple of Youtube clips floating around of the final 2 mins or so that are pretty funny. "I'm going to have a f-n heart attack!"
