Would you want this guy?

Personally I would definitely make a push for him if I was LP and JD, 50 goal scorers dont come on the market too often, especially ones with that size. I'm not sure the price it would take to get him but I've heard suggestions of Kariya, Perron and a 1st or Boyes and 1st or something with McKee involved. And if those would get it done I would jump all over that. If you kept Boyes imagine him and Heatley on ur 1st and 2nd lines or if its Boyes gone, Kariya, McDonald and Heatley would look pretty nice. Obviously it all depends what the asking price is, if it involves, Oshie, Pietrangelo, Johnson, or Berglund it would be a no.

Interesting note Heatley claimed the Blues were his favorite team growing up with Hull being his favorite player and speculation is he wants to play in the Western Conference.

Just wondering your thoughts.

If he wanted to be a Blue he should of had his agent talk with the team and get an offer. Price tag is too much, and I really don't see the Blues picking it up if they were able to do something.

I get that sounds funny, but if Kariya or Boyes are part of the deal, there is no way one of them needs to be included, we have lots of young talent that can be included without them. Perron, Eller, Cole, McCrae, Palushaj, our 1st and 2nd rounders. Definitely more than enough considering his salary and term.

That's a lot of scratch... but Heatley sure would look good in a Blues uniform.

Doesn't Ottawa need some help on defense? We've got a team canada member, all-star, and team captain defensman we can part with.

Depending on the deal, I would not just shut it down if it involved these guys. What if they offer Heatley for Oshie and a third rounder? I would jump on that! We know that Heatley is a proven scorer and can really add an extra punch to the power-play, whereas Oshie (or Berglund, Pietro, Johnson, etc.) is still young and could burn out as fast as they got drafted.

Now if the Senators asked for Oshie and Pietrangelo, I would probably turn them down.

Now is the time we will see who really makes the trade decisions around here, JD or Lar. If we make a deal for him, Lar calls the shots. It fits the M.O. Gut your team of prospects/young NHL players for a guy making UFA type money. If they don't, JD is making the decisions. Why not keep your young guys and make a run at Hossa or someone as UFA if you have the money to spend?

What a crybaby..."I want out of Atlanta because I killed a teammate!" "I want out of Ottawa because the mean coach moved me to the second pp unit!!!"

Seriously, just STFU and play for once. You guys can have the punk, I'll keep Havlat.

A Heatley fan calling Havlat a pussy...hilarious. Of course, Heatley HAS killed someone, so I guess he's earned his man-card.

Wherever possible, the Blues shouldn't be trading their prospects. Give it some time.

I would pass on Heatley unless the demand for a trade drives the price low. this is the second time heatley has requested a trade. I would rather use the money and sign a UFA. Let some other team give up the ransom and worsen themselves. Why some are hasty to give up Boyes/Perron is beyond me.

Only if they go on a poker run with Leonard Little.

Then on a cocaine and strip club run with Josh Hancock.

Too soon?

Mentioning Josh Hancock is not too soon; the EJ golf cart incident is.

However, a motorcycle cruise with Gassoff is fair game.

Now what if I were to say he went on a drug bust with Ryan Leaf? Is that too soon?

I have a litmus test for determining if a joke is too soon. You know how you can get a crappy song stuck in your head? Well, I think that the only way to get that song out of your head is by replacing it with a worse song. Once that worse song is in your head, the old one doesn't stick anymore.

So, I think the EJ story is really the only story that is too soon, because I can't get that one out of my head, until EJ is playing again and something bad happens.
