Wake up people. Draft's tomorrow.

:poke:

We have #17.

Any trade predictions?

I am hoping the Blues can land Josh Harding via trade (though not with the 17th pick of course).

Yeah! I've been itching for a draft thread, but I haven't read enough about guys to have much of a clue who would be a good #17 for us. I'm just happy we have Jarmo.

I saw that Strickland blog about Harding. I'd be very happy trading a prospect and/or player (not EJ, Petro, kid line, Cole, Palushaj, Backes) for him as a backup/future starter (another Toivonen move). Despite excluding those 8 young players/prospects, I think we still have a solid prospect core that we could offer a solid young guy. A McRae, Junlund and/or or Sonne or someone. (one or two of those guys)

A Minny blogger/newspaper writer claims to have actual sources that state the Blues are in the mix (along with a number of teams: Wings, Avs, ect.)

If the Isles do anything other than draft Tavares, their fans will go apesh*t. For Snow to trade that pick would require the movement of heaven and earth and I don't see any team willing to part with that much of their team for one guy. I just don't.

edit: okay, MAYBE the Lightning cause they're right there at #2 and I could see how they would want Tavares. I could see something happening where they swap picks for something.

I could care less about the draft itself. We aren't picking in the Top 10 and we sure as hell ain't moving up. I'm more interested in what team David Perron belongs to come Sunday and what we got in return for him...

Starting the GDT early is a punishable ban.

Oshie, Berglund, Perron, Polak. None of them coming from the top ten. All of them reasons to be excited about our 17th

There is reason to be excited about every pick.
Quite often top 10 picks never even work out and it's your picks in the teens or even in the later rounds that end up being the best ones in the entire draft.

You never know.

But yeah, trade talk on draft day is fun stuff. :letsgoblues:

Plus this is suppossed to be a pretty deep draft through the first two rounds, so #17 might be very exciting.

PLEASE let Perron stay a Blue.

JR confirms the Blues' interest in Wild goalie Josh Harding on Twitter.

The Blues are interested in Minnesota goalie Josh Harding. He's a restricted free agent. Keep an eye on that one.

The Blues interviewed Landon Ferraro (Ray Ferraro's son) last Thursday. Center, Red Deer (WHL).

He is projected to go late first round by the experts out there.

6-foot, 170-pounds.

Skilled and fast.

He won the fastest-skater competition at the WHL Prospects Game in January.

"Nose for the net."
"He's always on the right side of the puck," said Blair MacDonald of NHL Central Scouting. "If there's a turnover, he's in good position right away. And he comes back deep in his own zone to help. He's very strong defensively, as well as being an offensive threat."

No doubt they interviewed MANY players, but I thought this was interesting.

Seems very odd to put the RFA info out...

Interesting. I liked Ferraro when he had his stint with the Blues- maybe this is a way to lure him into a staff position? BEWARE TEH SON OF TEH CHICKEN PARM!!!1!1

Would Landon Ferraro be Eggplant Parm?

I don't see them trading the 17th pick unless they feel they can draft who they want a little lower down and maybe get 2 picks for the price of 1.

TSN:
The Boston Bruins are in pursuit of Tomas Kaberle and a top 10 pick in today's draft. Sources tell TSN the Bruins have offered restricted free agent Phil Kessel to Toronto in exchange for the Leaf defenceman and Toronto's No. 7 pick in the draft.
