Wasn't he the biggest scapegoat for the fans when the Canucks were eliminated last year? Now they sign him to a 12 year contract?

When is the league going to step in and do something about this crap. Whatever happened to a contract when a player would sign for 6 years for 36 million, and would get paid 6 million each season played.
