Blues Sports talk radio

This is probably pretty close to a wasted thread, but does anyone know of any AM stations that actually discuss the Blues? I'm in STL for a few days and I can't find anything on the dial that isn't a Rams bitch-fest or a circle jerk about how the Cardinals have clinched the division for the first time in all of three years. With the season starting Friday, I would have thought the Blues would be in the mix. Any help would be appreciated.

If you listen long enough, you will hear a snippet here and there.

This is why I listen to NHL Home Ice on XM.

The hockey coverage in this town sucks balls. At this time of year to not have at least one show a day for a couple hours dedicated solely to hockey, is a joke.

This should be the most excited Blues fans are about a team in quite some time...and nobody cares to talk about it on the radio for more than a few minutes. Probably because the sports personalities in this town don't have a clue how to talk hockey. Is there a hockey show on now? I don't know of any.

It's all Rams and Cardinals. The Cardinals I can understand since they have won the division and are heading to the playoffs (and I'm a huge Cards fan)...but all of the Rams talk is friggin' boring. They're horrible and boring, everyone knew they were going to be horrible and boring yet they dedicate hours of air time every day to discuss that train wreck of a team. Why?

This. Why everyone expected anything other than what they are getting is beyond me. Other than a new coaching staff, the rams have done nothing to make themselves better, yet people still find a need to bitch about it, like they were expecting a whole new team this year.

It's not jsut the hockey talk. The sports talk in this town is a joke.

I've heard more informed talk on college talk stations.

You know what's funny... I've been a die-hard Bloos fan for 20+ years now, and lived in this town for 15 of those 20 years... and I couldn't tell you a damn thing about Blues sports talk on the radio. I NEVER listen to any of it. I don't know, where to find it, who does it, when it's on... I know NOTHING.

All I know is...

1) Ken Wilson used to have a good show
2) Andy Murray does KMOX shows with Kevin Wheeler during the season, but its airtime is irregular
3) Everything else blows

I have said for several years that the sports talk radio in St. Louis is the worst in the country, and that includes places like Des Moines, IA, and Springfield, MO. No one knows anything other than the Cardinals and (when they're good) the Rams, no matter what time of year it is. Good luck trying to talk about the Blues or anything national. And if you're waiting for some new talent...oh, yeah. St. Louis never hires any new talent. It's the same schlubs transplanted from station to station doing the same ol' thing.

If you want sports talk radio, either listen to ESPN Radio or buy XM and the NHL Network. You're more likely to hear anything about the Blues there than on a local station.

Yeah, the only consistent Blues talk on the radio is the post game show on 1120. And I think it is pretty good when Wheeler and Chase aren't all over Brewer and Jackman's balls.

This. And ++ to listening to Home Ice on XM, especially now that Scott Laughlin is off of the morning commute show. I don't know what it is, but his voice makes me want to kick puppies.

Face it sports talk in this town sucks period. The new 101 ESPN is about the worst. With the exception of the Bernie show. The rest is just Ram's propganda.

Slaten has Andy Murray on after each game, and many times game day. he's always sung the praise of hockey players and coaches. he said to get a nfl or mlb player coach and even player to do game day interviews can be like pulling teeth, the blues guys come on, no questions asked.

love or hate slaten, he does some great interviews, and Murray is very candid with Slaten.

that would be 1380.

mckernan and his group used to have tkachuk on every other day, now it's when keith feels like it.

the shows on sirius/xm are horrid. 90% ranger talk, 2% Devils, 2% canadiens/buffalo, rest share the rest. so it seems

best hockey show was on the old Empire Sports Network. they talked a ton of hockey, had call in shows. Sabres were #1 on that channel, then the Bills. Had a ton of hockey coverage in off season, etc.

The guys that I work with are constantly listening to 101.1. It isn't half bad, but its Rams 21/7. The other three are the Cardinals and Bernie's show.

I just wish that some station would hire Chaser or Kerber to do a full-time show everyday at some hour just about the Blues. If this was done, I would be a life-long listener.

There are 2 Blues Hockey radio shows The Rick Zombo Show 1380am Tuesday 6 to 7p.m and Blues Buzz with Andy Strickland thursdays 590am.The drawback is both stations radio signal is weak when they do the shows.

Sooo...they give Rick Zombo one hour a week and Strickland a little time on Thursdays?

St. Louis is a good hockey town. I wonder when the sports media is going to recognize this and dedicate a little more time to it on the radio?

And I can't stand Strickland.

Nice.
Reminds me of programming back on my old VIC20.
