The broadcast is already 1000% better with a competent color analyst. Now if we could find a way to limit Bernie's involvement, it'd be that much better!

Agreed 1000%...no more listening to nonsensical verbiage from Bernie. Next is Hrabosky, who is much worse.

Yet I'm still hearing him talk, not to mention having to see his commercial during the breaks.

Holy jumpin'! I'd take Bernie over Pang. At least Bernie's a Blue dammit, and since getting Centre Ice he's pretty much raised me over the last couple of years. Sure I dress funny and people make fun of my hair and hygiene but I'm improving. Pang might work out okay if he hits puberty, but holy jumpin' he's annoying. I'll take Bernie's great angles of the play over Pang's fawning over Kovalchuk's world class shot. Did you know it was a world class shot? He repeated it a few times just in case. Really what is the point of colour commentators or play-by-play guys for that matter, fire them all and invest in a few more microphones around ice level. We can see for ourselves what happened.

Pang is going out of his way to make Bernie an important part of the broadcast.

Pang: "That goal was a dagger in the heart of Blues fans. Bernie, what did you see from your angle?"

Federko: "That goal was a dagger in the heart."

I could sense a little subtle hostility from all of them, and it was pretty comical.

"How's the view from down there, Bernie???"

This thread blows, picking a hawk over a Blues great, dsigraceful.

While it's nice Panger is in the booth, does he have to end every other one of his sentences with "What did you see down there, Bernie" Wasn't the point to not have Bernie talking as much? I can't tell the difference from last season.

Bernie's not that bad you guys. You're over-exaggerating. During the game tonight, for example, he was pretty good and had some funny jokes. Give him some credit.

Sidenote: Bernie talks almost just as much as last season. I really can't tell a difference. Now you have 3 guys commentating instead of 2 - what a waste of a salary.

Just wait until all the Johnsons are on the ice and you get to hear 3 commentators repeating it ad nauseam.

And, yes, Bernie is that bad when he essentially repeats whatever Panger says half the time. Bernie was an excellent hockey player. He's a bad commentator.

After I got home from the game last night, I ended up rewatching it on DVR. And I picked up on just how horrible the announcing is more so than ever before and is it me or is there just absolutely no play-by-play what so ever, it is tv you don't need to be on it like on the radio but it was pretty non-existent and when Kelly does get around to do it, he is absolutely horrid.
