BLUES PREVIEW: The Blues are coming off their best effort of the season, a 5-0 shellacking of Anaheim. Backup goalie Ty Conklin had a 26-save shutout against the Ducks, but chances are Chris Mason will be back in goal.
PENGUINS PREVIEW: The defending Stanley Cup champions are off to a terrific start this season. The Penguins are 7-1, with their only loss coming in a 3-0 shutout by Phoenix.
WHAT TO WATCH: Former Blues defenseman Jay McKee is playing well for the Penguins. McKee had seven blocked shots in a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay recently and currently leads the NHL with 28 blocked shots.
INJURIES: Blues — LW Alex Steen (wrist), D Barret Jackman (ankle), LW D.J. King (thumb) and D Eric Brewer (back), out. Penguins — D Ben Lovejoy (shoulder) and C Max Talbot (shoulder), out.
Crosby and Malkin aren't playing up to their abilities, and that will most likely change very soon. Hopefully not tonight, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them come out and put up 4 points each. They're just too good to be putting up such "low" numbers. 10 points for Malkin, 7 points for Crosby in 8 games. Well ok, maybe that's a more or less good pace for Malkin, but for Crosby it most certainly displays a funk.
I do think that the boys took out of the last game that it's fun to play well and win. I'd hope they'll bring that into tonight.
Blues 4
Pens 3 (SO)
I won't be in flashchat most likely because I'll be watching the Versus broadcast.

4-3 Good guys. They score 3 in the first, barely hang on the rest of the way.

damn daylight savings time in the southern hemisphere. i spent about 15 minutes staring at different webpages trying to figure out what the hell was going on...i feel like an idiot.
alright, i'm now ready to watch some hockey (if my internet connection permits...) otherwise i (hopefully) can at least listen...
noted above, i'm a retard...is there a link on this site where we can listen to the interview? i dont see one.
curt, good luck with the interview...now to smoke a cig beforehand...
Interview went well.
They asked some typical questions about the Blues, how I thought we'd do this year, etc...so I talked up the kids. And they asked for a prediction for tonight's game...so I said, "4-3 Blues in OT...Erik Johnson with the winner. We'll give you guys a point."

Crombeen shouldn't be in the NHL.

By far the worst period the Blues have played all season.
Beaten to almost every loose puck. Poor clearing attempts. No one standing anyone up in the neutral zone or at the blueline. Losing most faceoffs. The only person playing well is Mason. Score could easily be 4 or 5-0 with the way the Blues haven't been playing hockey.
