Pietrangelo will play against Carolina according Louie Korac of the Alton Telegraph and Jersey County Star.

Strachan will be healthy scratch.

A no brainer for Murray after his good game against Dallas.

I wouldn't throw that expression around too loosely.

Andy may see that and take it as a challenge.

Over/Under on ice time for Petro?

18 minutes....over or under.

I say he plays less than any other defenseman and nets about 17 minutes tonight.

Time on ice for defenseman vs. Carolina:

Polak: 25:03
Weaver: 22:30
Sydor: 21:26
Johnson: 20:45
Strachan: 15:54
Pietrangelo: 14:11

Well, unfortunately, I was right. Petro played the least amount of minutes. And how in the hell does Sydor get more ice time than Johnson??? Are you kidding me?

14 minutes for Petro?

Why...why...why...why...why....?

Andy and Sydor are old high school buddies.

I believe they were both the class of 36.

Respectfully – I don’t think a less than 45 second difference is much to get excited about when the guys are even strength partners. I had to listen to this game on the radio, so if they were split up often, please correct me.

Didn’t the Blues just have one power play (which would have boosted Johnson’s minutes)?

As for Pie, he is an inexperienced guy and on the third pairing on a team that wants wins. I think 14 minutes is pretty good at this stage of his career (10-12 NHL games). To quote Larry David: "Pretty good. Pretty pretty good."

The breakdown of those minutes tells me that the Blues’ focus as the game went on was to clamp down (thus the Polak pair minutes) and not ramp up the offense even further. That makes sense considering the way the game went. Once again, lack of power plays affects the minutes as well.

I’m not a Murray defender, but once you accept, right or wrong, we have who we have (meaning Sydor) I think the minutes make sense to me. I would like to see the blue chips play more sure, but I don’t think any of these minutes are unreasonable.

Also, on the season Sydor is averaging about 2 min less than Johnson, obviously boosted by Johnson's time on the power play. But, like SIU said, this is Murray and we always clamp down once we take the lead. But, even when we do that Johnson should be playing more than Sydor, but like I said this is Murray we are dealing with.
