Losing twice to a team that should not exist is grounds for termination.

Not sure that's happening.

Yeah, that didn't happen at all, I think people were more happy when they accidentally announced that Brewer was scratched.

So, just watched the highlights...

It's like Murray is doing math at a middle school level.

Veteran > not veteran
Higher paid > less paid
Veteran = best
Rookie = worst

OH I GOT IT! PAIR THE ROOKIE WITH THE VETERAN!

Leaving out all that subtle stuff about how the veteran actually sucks and is overpaid AND is back for the first time after a year logn absence.

I gotta say, Pietro didn't really look that great on the 2nd goal either.

I am absolutely outraged that they didn't send Brewer down to the minors for conditioning. You can't be an effective coach while BLATANTLY playing favorites.

Not exactly his fault, Pietrangelo lost his man. But still, it's something.

I was surprised Brewer didn't drop to the ice like all of our defenseman do in that situation, he has to at least get down and get his stick on the ice. Pietro was out of position, but Brewer has to do more to try and block that pass.

Well, Brewer didn't waste much time getting right back into form. The first goal against goes in off of his stick. :facepalm:

This lack of coordination on offense reminds me a lot of how we looked under Kitchen. Completely unorganized and nobody on the same page...nobody seems to know where their linemates are. Gee...I wonder what would fix that...maybe playing with the same linemates for a while? It would only help.

This crap needs to get fixed. It's painful to watch. We're wasting good goaltending.

Out of curiosity, how did the crowd respond to Brewer when he first came out? Did he get a warm welcome?

We looked absolutely horrible last night. Were they playing some variation of a neutral zone trap?? Either we were way off the page on positioning (definitely possible) or they were finding ways to clog the shit out of the neutral zone. Probably a big contributor to the log jam was the fact that we have no transition game whatsoever. EJ is getting better with his outlet passes (by no means good, yet), but other than that, it seems like the defensemen just shit themselves with the puck everytime. We couldn't even get a dump and chase game going on. :doh: When we did get setup and get a good cycle going, no one would shoot the damn puck. Everyone was looking for the pass.

I think our best players were Conklin, Berglund, Perron, Stastny, and Janssen (probably in that order).

Now, about Brewer, he was absolutely horrendous. He looked just as bad as he did before he disappeared for a year. I guess his back is OK, though, as he went into the boards VERY hard trying to hit someone. Of course he missed, but he got one hell a run at the guy. It was loud in the arena. :lol:

This team needs a complete change. We're getting lucky in our wins and being exposed in our loses. Is it possibly time for a coaching change? I think Murray is a good coach, but he coaches the wrong style for what our team needs.

Does Paul Kariya still play on this team?

Sure didn't look like it last night (or in the last handful of games). He was being beaten to the puck and stripped of the puck all night long. Sure doesn't look like someone that deserves anything anywhere close to $6 million/year.

Painful game to watch.

They have alternated wins and losses so far.

I said it once and I will say it again: Paul Kariya is worthless.

The guy doesn't skate for pucks, he can't carry it to save his life and his passing is atrocious. He was brought in for speed and a shot, yet I haven't seen either one from him this season. Even in the game that he had two against Detroit, he was non-existent every play that didn't result in a goal. Its hard to believe this guy is on a contract year.

Yet, Murray plays him 20 minutes a night (19:34 last night), while guys who I thought played well on the night (Berglund, Crombeen) see about 15-17 minutes. This song and dance is getting really old.

Win streaks are strictly verbotten by Andy Murray. Those caught attempting to secure a win streak will be severely punished by press box duty, dramatically reduced ice time or re-assignment to a line with entirely incompatible linemates.
