Pretty amazing Brewer is back. I thought his career was over. Kudos to him.

Certainly his expectations are much lower than that of replacing Pronger.

Brewer is a slug. Unless his terrible play was solely the result of lingering injury issues, there is no reason to believe he will be any better now - particularly as he "shakes off the rust" from a long layoff from game-speed action.

The fact that he would see his first game action with the big club is a sign that Murray is a complete joke. A. Complete. Joke.

Brewer would be a fine 2nd pairing defenseman if he made half as much money. He's just way overpaid and over utilized.

Hoping he gets hurt again? It shouldn't take more than a period. A month ago he couldn't lift a small child. Now he's supposed to perform at an NHL level? Scratch that. He's never performed at an NHL level. Let's just hope his turnovers don't result in any goals tonight. Is that setting the bar too high?

I'll wait and see how Brewer responds. I believe he deserves a fair shot here, but if he bombs tonight people are going to be all over him, which I disagree with since he's been out almost a full year. I'm not even a Brewer fan. I don't think he's brings as much to the team as management and the coaching staff say he does, and that's why I get frustrated with the guy. This guy couldn't win since the day he got here because of the Pronger trade, and it's only been made worse the more praise and responsibility that's been heaped on him when most fans believed that he didn't deserve it.

I'll give him a chance though. He's went through a lot trying to get back here, so he deserves at least that much, in my opinion.
