Highlight of the night, the following line by Panger:

"He didn't prematurely blow it!"

Almost as good as "A lot of Johnsons on the ice tonight."

Disagree on the same ol' same ol' part. That was a different team. They played with a fire. They took a good Philly team the distance and couldn't get that 2nd goal to go in. Murray isn't a 30 goal scorer that's not potting pucks in the net (ala Kariya, Boyes, Backes, Tkachuk, etc.). Murray isn't making defensive gaffes on a nightly basis.

I agree with most comments here but want to reiterate a few. Eller deserves to stay. Guy was playing all out & even though he's still growing, he was playing with the attitude of a player bigger than he is. Backes on the shootout?! I thought AM said whoever had the better shootout during practices would be called upon in a game. IIRC Cam was that guy. Good game against Philly & yes, it would be nice to play them a few more times.

It's Murray's job to get the most out of the talent he has on the ice...and he isn't doing that.

This team should be better, and that falls on Murray.

Weren't a bunch of people calling for Backes to be named captain just this past week?

Now a lot of people hate him apparently...

I don't see this as a bunch of hate, I just think people are wanting him to play a little harder. Once he gets on a roll he is hard to stop.

Instead of playing with no passion or intensity and not scoring much and losing... They played with a lot of passion or intensity but still didn't score much and still lost. An improvement? I guess?

When your coach is the Green Goblin, some people will call anything improvement. But Blues fans suffer from continual Beaten Fan Syndrome and are eternally afraid to demand anything better.

I don't think you are getting the point people are making... Murray's system and decisions with the personel is the issue.

Ya, it's Murray who is giving hella icetime to Brewer who is making a strong push to lead the team in +/- (in the minus sense) but as far as defensive gaffes, we are in the top half of the conference in GAA and usually do a good job of limiting teams chances. 2.57 is plenty low to have a much better record - if we could score.

This team is 13th in the conference in GFA, and if you throw out those first two games we are dead last. Can you really tell me that ALL of our scorers are in a "slump" at exactly the same time or do you need to take a look at how they are being used to explain the drought?

They played hard last night, but the way they are asked to play means they don't have the opportunities to exploit their strenghts on the ice, imo. Murray needs to go. It's been said he's a good coach with a team of journeymen grinders and we have seen that. This isn't a team of grinders and Murray is clueless on what to do with them now that they play hard and wear their hats properly.

Don't look now.

We've only scored 2 goals in 4 games.
