From yesterday's Morning Skate:
Some have wondered if Blues coach Andy Murray’s style of coaching has led the team’s younger players to play a low-risk game. If they make a mistake, they fear he’ll come down hard on them, limiting their playing time, etc.

Murray today that he has done nothing to create that type of environment.

“That doesn’t come from (the coaching staff),” Murray said. “I spend all my time trying to dissolve that. How much has David Perron played this year? Should he be afraid about making a mistake? How much has T.J. Oshie played this year? How much has Patrik Berglund played? Do I keep playing them?

“If you’re afraid of making a mistake because you’re going to be benched, or the coach is going to yell at you, or scream at you . . . then there’s something maybe we can do about it. But ultimately, isn’t it the individual? You have to play the game. If you’re playing afraid to make a mistake, you can’t play the game. To me, to be honest with you, those are excuses. There shouldn’t be anybody on our team that’s playing afraid to make a mistake. If they are, then I don’t want them out there. I’ve heard that . . . that guys are afraid to make (a mistake) . . . we’ll that’s good, but tell me why they would be afraid. Is the coach benching them?”
Wasn't he benched for a few shifts because he made a mistake in the Vancouver game where he also had a franking hat trick?? Quit talking out of your ass, Murray!

All the stuff that's been coming out lately leads me to believe that The Mur is feeling the heat.

We've played 18 games.
I really think something could be done after game #20 if we continue to struggle.
20 games is about 1/4 of the season and that could be the point where management says, "We've had enough."

Interesting answer from JR regarding changing coaches (during JR Live).
It's possible that Murray's words have gotten stale. But after 3+ years, I don't know that there's a coach in the NHL who can keep his message fresh. I just ran through every NHL team, and at least 22 out of the 30 coaches in the NHL joined their teams after Murray came to St. Louis in 2006. The entire league is about turnover.
Seems like it's definitely about time.

He bought some time. Still wasn't an impressive win.

Has the board reached the point where Murray's release is all but universally agreed upon? Even after a win. Good goodness.

As for me, I'm right there with everyone else. :letsgoblues:

As well you should be.
Under Murray these players arent being used correctly. Walt could still be a major force on this team. Especially if the powerplay was made halfway decent, with good puck movement and nice and spread out. Bergy could also be a force on the PP
